每一届的选举,执政党的政治宣传都以《发展》为号召。他们呼吁选民投国阵,以为他们的选区带来发展。很多时候,一些生活在穷乡僻壤或政治意识较低的选民,往往受执政党这种宣传的影响,而把选票投给执政党,他们怕投票给在野党后,地方上的发展会受影响,但是他们都忘了检查这种《发展》口号是真实性的。 上个星期,当国会辩论乡村与区域发展部的财政预算案拨款时,砂拉越州斯里安曼区的国会议员吉米,以非常沮丧的口吻参与辩论。他说,他在其选区所居住的长屋至今仍未有电流供应,他在过去12 年来,每一年都针对此事在国会发言,但是政府至今仍未解决这问题。他接着说,大选可能会很快到来,届时他要面对在野党的压力,他希望政府能尽快的解决这问题。言下之意:再不将电流接去他的长屋,选民可能会投票给在野党以教训国阵了。
