At the Pakatan Rakyat Convention – great turnout!

Posted on Saturday, 14-01-2012Saturday, 14-01-2012 by Teresa

Arrived in Alor Setar this morning at 9.40am to attend the 3rd Pakatan Rakyat Convention.

Happened to be on the same flight with Kak Wan and also Sdr Gobind Singh.

There is a healthy turnout of PR delegates and leaders. Roughly 2’000 to 2’500 people, including some Kedahans who have come observers, are present at the Stadium Sultan Abdul Halim Shah.

Among leaders present are PAS’ Tuan Guru Nik Aziz, DAP’s Sdr Lim Kit Siang and Penang CM Sdr. Lim Guan Eng, PKR’s Azmin Ali, Datin Seri Wan Azizah and Selangor MB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

I was part of the representatives who led the oath-taking during the convention.

The convention this is year presents the ‘Jingga Deal’ manifesto, in a follow-up to the ‘Buku Jingga’ presented in the last convention. Jingga Deal includes focus and measures to improve the civil service and economic policies.

Judging from the response from delegates and speakers, the push to Putrajaya is certainly picking up pace and Pakatan Rakyat is on track to introduce necessary and worthy policy changes and improvements once we get there.”
