9th July is a historical day, many DAP leaders, DAP members and I joined thousands of fellow Malaysians to demand for a free and fair elections in Malaysia by joining the Bersih assembly in Kuala Lumpur.
I have been strongly advised by a friend of mine not to attend the rally as I am on the list of 91 activists who have been served court order that forbid us to enter into the area of Stadium Merdeka and National Mosque. My friend was worried that I might be charged for contempt of court later. However, I insisted on going for the rally and I was prepared to face the consequences. I know I would have no peace in my heart if I did not attend the rally.
My friends and I have been praying very hard for the Bersih rally as we were worried about the high-handedness of the police toward fellow peace-loving civilians. We were also worried that not that many people would turn up for the rally after a series of warnings by BN leaders and the road blocks set by police in all major roads of Kuala Lumpur.
However, when I managed to go into KL and joined the march, my heart was really moved to see thousands of people joining our march. Looking at the multi-racial crowd from all over the countries, I was wondering where did these people come from.
My heart was tremendously moved and I thanked God for answering our prayer…..
In order to avoid to being spotted by police for disobeying the court order, I tied my hair and wore a blue cap, to make myself look like a “tourist”. Some said I look like a Korean 🙂 I carried a bag that carried mineral water, salt and towel. The crowd shouted “Bersih, Bersih, Bersih…..!”
With me were Selangor EXCO Ean Yong Hian Wah (grey shirt), MP for Bukit Mertajam Chong Eng (checkered shirt), MP for Serdang Teo Nie Ching (white shirt), State Assemblyman from Perak Thomas Su (green shirt), MP for Bakri Er Teck Hwa (red shirt at the back) and many other leaders.
Some of those marching with us travelled from afar to join this rally and were proudly advertising the fact 😉
We marched from Pudu Plaza to Pudu Raya area. Along the way, we passed by the so-called UMNO “Patriot” starting their march. I was surprised, only so few? 😉
We continued walking peacefully. All of us were tremendously happy when we saw a huge crowd that came from Jalan Tun Razak and Kota Raya area. We were so happy to see the crowd.
Many of us busy to take photos and amazed with the turnout. It was like a happy carnival that came together in solidarity for a common goal.
However, this happy moment did not last for too long. 20 minutes later, we saw FRU coming from the Jalan Tun Razak area.
Dr Hatta Ramli (yellow shirt in the middle) was addressing the large crowd near Pudu area when water cannon started to shoot at us.
We outnumbered the FRU officers. However, they carried battons and shields. They had water cannon and tear gas, but we had not bring any weapons to fight back, nor did we want to. We were peaceful!

Chong Eng, Lee Kee Hiong and I retreated to Tong Shin Hospital when the tear gas was fired. Then wind started to blow and rain started to fall. We fled the area by climbing a small hill at Tong Shin Hospital to the back lane of the hospital. We sought shelter at a guard house of a condominium as rain was getting heavier.
A lady who stays at the condominium saw us and offered to drive us back to Pudu Plaza area with her car. She was like a Samaritan that was sent by God to us at that time.
Bersih rally has become the topic of netizens before and after the rally. I received a tweet message a day after the rally that said, “I regretted deeply that I did not join the Bersih 2.0, I swear I will definitely join Bersih 3.0 if you organise it.”
Najib has said he wanted to get back Selangor “at all costs”. The more he used BN-owned media and state-owned media to demonise Pakatan Rakyat and NGOs, and the more BN tried to use Election Commission to carry out this “mission”, the more it agitated people who rose up to demand for CHANGE.
Najib can continue his hollow programme of “economic transformation” and “government transformation”, but “reform” or “transformation” will never happen if the proponent doesn’t have a “transformed mind”. The way Najib and PDRM handled the Bersih rally has proven this statement.

Aloha from Hawai’i. Wonderfully done piece. Surely you will be successful. May freedom prevail!
Well done Teresa,
The rally was only the beginning for new Malaysia and the end for the deceitful and corrupted Umno ! Don’t forget when all is done to have the grand son of the untouchable pariah shenanigan Mahathir, the quarter cooked IGP and company, the AG, the CJ to name just a few indicted for all the atrocities they committed.
The risk of being arrested would have been worth it, onwards the clean and incorruptible patriots ! We have waited long enough, it is better late than never.
After Saturday’s public outpouring of support for Bersih and Pakatan, Najib can forget about capturing Selangor. He should instead play the role of a good opposition, if his party manages to avoid being decimated in the next elections.
CSL is a former HM.LTL is the present HM.Both of them are doctors. In war and peace time doctors risk their lives to save patients. Here we have a HM and an ex HM,both doctors by profession trying and lying their asses off to try to save attackers of their patients.
So what these two pariah assholes are saying is that if these same attackers were to invade their homes and attack their wives and daughters they both would lie their asses off for them too. After all pariahs, lapdogs and traitors have no loyalty.
Another point to note is i have never ever trust this guy LTL since day one. He has played out his former boss OngTK AND OPTED FOR A PORN STAR INSTEAD. I guess being honest and with guts like OngTK will never survive in Bolehland more so in MCA. You can be right, but can also be DEAD RIGHT!!
