Hi, do you remember the photos that I put on my blog on BN giving away RM200 to Kelantan voters in Kuala Lumpur to go back to cast vote in Kelantan. This issue was published in the media too.
I submitted a Parliament question to PM to ask what action has been taken by ACA and Election Commission on this act of giving away RM200 to voters during general elections period. I was quite shock the ACA did not carry out investigation on this issue as they did not receive any official complain on this matter, and Election Commission has not received any complain so far, the answer says that EC has no power over accusation on money politics.
My God, this is really the answer for a World Class Parliament and Government that vouched to combat against corruption since Pak Lah came into power. I thought our PM recently said that the government intends to make our ACA to be like ICAC in Hong Kong and to be a world class anti corruption agency??
If our ACA intends to be of world class, how come they never bother to take statements from me after I published the photo and statement on my blog? And they now said that they did not receive any official complain, so they don’t bother about the issue, how can that be??

DEWAN RAKYAT: Unhappy with PM’s reply on money politics
SEVERAL MPs are unhappy with the written reply by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on money politics on Monday.
Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) and R. Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) were upset that Abdullah said the Anti-Corruption Agency did not receive any official complaint on money being given by Barisan Nasional to Kelantanese residing in Kuala Lumpur to return to their hometown and cast their ballots for the BN in the March 8 election.
“I’m surprised by his answer. I have pictorial evidence to show that Kelantanese voters residing in the city were given RM200 each at Bukit Jalil to go back and vote,” said Kok while showing two photos of voters queuing up and receiving the payments on her laptop.
Sivarasa said Bersih, a coalition which campaigned for a free and fair election, had a Press conference on March 17 on the matter and the statement and pictures were not only reported in the mass media, but also uploaded on blogs as well.
“As far as I know, ACA does not need an official complaint to initiate an investigation as long as it receives the information from known and anonymous sources. But the answer given is totally different.
“Why didn’t the ACA contact us?”
Teresa, its not surprising that this can happen as the PM is sleeping together with the election commission. The EC has just disclosed that there was no proof of sabotage on indelible ink. Yet they scraped the proposal. What do it say about the BN administration. They have also sent blogger RPK to sungei buloh. Again what does it say about BN administration. Please as a senior member of DAP, persuade people in DAP especially karpal and others to agree to allow disgrunted BN MPs to cross over so PR could form the next government quickly for the good of all malaysian politically and as recession has already appeared in the horizon to quickly take remedial economic measures as the current PM is not competent to handle the economy.
Lack of transparency will only collapse them. It’s just a matter of time. The most important thing is now oppositions party members being transparent as well. Able to build confidence among the people. I believe in the next election, opposition parties can easily win more seats. Don’t just talk the empty promises.
i too am desperately irritated by the ACA. This sounds, to me, like a Corrupted Anti-Corruption agency.
Please fight it out, Teresa!
As can be seen from the March 8 results who the real ar*****e* are. Those who went and get their angpows and free ride back home are smarter then the BN people who thought out to be.
YB, push this matter further and see what they have to say about money politics (by the way, wonder where the money comes from, don’t tell me government money which relates to the RAKYATs money). Get the ACA to come out with the investigation.
The Abdullah administration is consistent in the sense that its words are inconsistent with its action. When a whistle blower’s act is being considered they arrested a blogger by revealing too much.
This is not the way to win my trust and confidence as a voter.
Then again, perhaps we should give BPR benefit of doubt. If they need to receive a complain to act. Fine. Lodge a complain and post the complain on cyberspace.
Put the list of complaint on your blog, date the complaint and hold press conference every 6 months and issue a citizen’s report card on a machinery funded by taxpayers’ money.
Just a side track, perhaps DAP members should track the performance of the speaker of the parliament by logging
1) the number of moitons he rejected when the motion is raised by opposition MPs;
2) reasons given and
3) compare to those allowed by the speaker when the motion is raised by BN.
A simple excel spreadsheet would do. Periodically reveal the trend of the speakers’ decision making for the rakyat to assess whether he is fair or not.
YB,
From day 1 until today’s parliment Q&A, they are just simply giving stupid answers which does not justify to the questions. Full of excuses ….. no complain made ……. lack of witnesses for the edible ink lead to case being closed as “No Further Action”. What is all this????? Its really sad especially issue which involve the wastage of the Malaysian Tax Payer money.
The malaysian parliment is no longer a place for the voice of the RAKYAT.
YB, we need better and further approach to unveil all unjustify issue. All these has to be made known to the public.
BPR would not take initiave to investigate in what seems to be a suspicious case of corruption?
A police officer can make a police report against Raja Petra for them to take action! How swift?!
say is easy,do is hard…from the answer given, we can see that for BPR to be operate as ICAC in hongkong is still very far away and is quite hard to achieve the target
The only way things can change, will ever change, is to have the PR in power.
The faster this is done, the better.
20 years ago, i wrote in a local newspaper that for BN to coverup any of their misdeeds, or solve their corruption problems, all they have to do is DENY IT IN PARLIAMENT, GIVE STUPD ANSWERS, AND PRESTO.. SOLVED.
thats what happened if you have absolute power.
Power corrupts…
absolute power corrupts absolutely…
……………………………………………
If u ask me do I trust the government now….i would say depending which agency and to whom in the government i trusted. However, very sad to mention, ACA is NOT in my “trusted list” of Government agency. In fAct, the corruption scenario in malaysia is serious(from my point of view).
As for corruption and Bias in the administration, i have an example here : For eample, how come a piece of land in Batu Cave which is not meant for residential development in the first place can be converted into the said purpose after one year of some people bought over at a very cheap price, despite of the original owner of the land application for 5years,but just couldn’t get the approval??? I personally do not have the solid evidence, but i welcome anyone of you, including the ACA officer to investigate and get the evidence.
As for the BN-MP to cross over, i do not agree with this , even thought those who want to cross over appeared to be disgrunted. Because we do not want any NEGATIVE BN’s elements in the new government. Frankly speaking, I don trust them (THE BN) !!!!! IN CERTAIN ISSUES, although i used to be active in BN component party…BUT I HAVE STOPPED SINCE THREE TO FOUR YEARS AGO…
Lets be at what is is now. Let the BN-government prof they are able to curb the wrong things and rectify it. Let the BR-MP and ADUN do the monitoring and perform to their best.
In 4years or less to come, We shall see a NEW LIFE OF MALAYSIA.
What is RM200 to these BN guys! The amount they go after are millions and billions, so this miserable sum to them is chicken feed and cannot amount to corruption or money politics!
Hon,
IN HK IT IS ICAC……IN BOLIH LAND IT IS CACI……..YOU KNOW HOW OUR MORONS OVER HERE DO THE SPINNING……IT IS ALWAYS WITHOUT SUBSTANCE
………….If our ACA intends to be of world class, how come they never bother to take statements from me after I published the photo and statement on my blog? And they now said that they did not receive any official complain, so they don’t bother about the issue, how can that be??………………………….
THE FIRST PERTINENT QUESTION TO YOU – HAVE YOU LODGED A POLICE REPORT?….IF YOU HAVE NOT – THEN YOU GAVE THEM AN EXCUSE ON A SILVER PLATTER FOR NOT ACTING
THE SECOND PERTINENT QUESTION TO YOU ………….WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT AS AN ELECTED REP……….CERTAINLY THIS CASE CANNOT BE A “BUANG KES”
HON YOU NEED TO BE A FIRST WORLD PEOPLES REPRESENATIVE TOO IN ORDER TO GET RESULTS FOR RIGHTING A WRONG
WHINING AND BITCHING IN YOUR BLOG ABOUT A WRONG GET YOU NO WHERE …..
CHEERS
Dear Teresa,
Dealing with BN politicians, you must adopt a more philosophical approach. I believe you already know they have “their version” of answer, which explains why they are so arrogantly doing this so openly and publicly.
Foe every means which can justify their end, they will skew definitions of the issues to allow them to carry out the actions. So, save your breath. We should be totally disappointed with PL by now. His words mean nothing.
Rakyat know what they do and God is judging them, that’s why the March 8 GE results. Let them continue with it, the Rakyat will show them the way OUT!
Please spend your valuable time on things that benefit the Rakyat.
