A TOTAL of 249 new projects worth more than RM7 billion in investments were approved in Selangor between March 2008 and July this year.

Chairman of the Permanent State Committee for Investments, Industrialisation and Trade, Teresa Kok Suh Sim, said out of the investments, about RM2.667 billion were local investments and RM4.336 billion foreign investments.

“The new projects, approved by the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti), have the capacity to provide some 18,166 job opportunities for the locals in Selangor,” she said during the Selangor State Assembly in Shah Alam today.

She said this in reply to a question from M.Manoharan (DAP-Kota Alam Shah) who wanted to know the amount of new investments in Selangor since Pakatan took over the state control from Barisan Nasional in March last year.
Among the areas of focus for foreign investors in the state are Shah Alam where 4,870 employment opportunities were created, Klang (4,082), Port Klang (1,404), Pulau Lumut and Pulau Indah (655), Subang (783), Puchong (956), Semenyih (363), Banting (121), Kapar (477), Balakong (187) and Kajang (340).

Kok said Selangor was among the major contributors to Malaysia’s trade through its Klang port project and the KL International Airport (KLIA).

Replying to a question from Datuk Subahan Kamal (BN-Taman Templer), Kok, who is the Adun for Kinrara, said the state government had implemented several strategies this year to increase trade in Selangor.

These include the promotion of specific areas such as Pulau Indah as a trade activity centre, as well as business networking and business matching programmes, trade and investment missions overseas and the participation of Selangor in local and overseas exhibitions.

Congratulations YB Teresa! Well replied and with facts and figures! At least not like the Gerakan Chief who said the crime Index went up because of the good performance of the PDRM! LOL!

There is no denying the fact that you will win hands down and with a majority of above 10,000 anytime you contest at Seputeh! Discounting the performance in the political tsunami last year, YB needs to support the lesser known politicians and build them up for the State Assembly! We need to have good and committed politicians for Selangor and make it an icon of democracy and good Governance in Malaysia, despite the many underhand tactics, spewing of lies and half truths, sabotages from Hassan ally of BN, and all out efforts to destabilise the Selangor Government, PR had done well.

With representatives like Tony Pua, the Parliament today look more professional and well informed. Unlike the days, when Kinabatangan and “close one eye”,( good that he is gone for good), it is much enjoyable viewing the debates now when the educated elites spew out their facts with ease.

Hope the DAP, has recruited more professionals in their ranks to shore up DAP’s cause for GE13. In this respect, DAP Penang has got a lot to do, and the need to recruit more professionals to run the State Government, as there are still too many who does not meet the needs of being good statesmen.

People like Hee of Perak should not again be fielded in any elections by DAP, not because of them easily being baited by the BN to crossover for $$$$$$$$$, but because they are “useless” as they hardly speak a word for her constituents because of lack of academic ability. Anyway, it is the end of her political career! The BN will not field her anyway, and she will not have the guts to stand as an independent.

Meanwhile, we wish Hassan ally of BN will be sacked by PAS and the picture will become clearer for the PR in the next couple of weeks.

Syabas and well done, PR State Government of Selangor!

Keep up the good work but do not your guard down. There are many around who would sabotage and cause problems – working with UMNO/BN.

There are still many uphill tasks. We are behind you if you are doing with integrity. If a genuine mistake is done we are forgiving. No one is perfect.

    All the best!
