Last Sunday, a fire occurred at 4th Mile, Old Klang Road which is located in my Seputeh constituency. So I went there on Sunday night itself to investigate the situation and see the victims. Thankfully, no one died in the fire but the homes of 9 families were destroyed.
Yesterday morning, I went to the site again together with officers of Jabatan Kebajikan and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur to register the victims to receive government aid. Members of the Che Huan Khor Moral Uplifting Society of Jalan Halimahton, Old Klang Road also came to offer aid and assistance to the victims.
The Moral Uplifting Society generously offered a RM300 donation to each of the households to help ease their hardship in this difficult time.
This old man who was one of the fire victims. When the fire occurred, he refused to leave his home despite the dangerous situation. Rescuers had to drag him out of there. In the end, his house was not damaged by the fire, so he went back to stay there despite the harsh environment around him. When the Moral Uplifting Society wanted to give him money, he asked them, why are you giving me money?
I wish to thank and recognise the Che Huan Khor Moral Uplifting Soceity for taking the initiative to offer financial assistance to the fire victims. I hope that more organisations and people will also step forward to help the fire victims and others less unfortunate around us. Those who are interested are welcome to contact either of my Service Centers to offer your aid, whether in cash or in kind.

After giving out aid to the victims, I was informed by a reporter that Raja Nong Chik, Federal Territories Minister would also be coming to offer aid to the victims. So I went to the Rukun Tetangga at the other side of Old Klang Road and waited 1 hour for his arrival. He was supposed to be there at 10.45am but he didn’t show until 11.45am.
Seated from left to right: Umno Seputeh Wanita chief Datuk Azizah Abd Samad, Ketua Pengarah DBKL Y. Bhg. Datuk Hj. Salleh bin Yusup, Federal Territories Minister, Raja Nong Chik in blue, officer from Jabatan Kebajikan in purple and me.
When Raja Nong Chik and his delegation arrived, I greeted him and welcomed him to my constituency.
His people displayed huge Barisan Nasional and UMNO banners in the background for his press conference.
In his speech, he mentioned that during Kuala Terengganu by-election, he and I were both on the same Firefly flight to Kuala Terengganu. Because the things I had with me were too heavy, he had helped me carry some of the things and he joked that maybe that was why UMNO kalah in the election. Everybody laughed and it made the situation lighter.
He also asked the people of Seputeh to “Sokong BN”. I jokingly said that he should say “Sokong UMNO.”
He also tried to promote the greeting “Salam 1Malaysia.”
When the press conference ended, I had to rush off to Parliament, but I was very touched that some of the fire victims came to thank me personally.
Thank you MP Tweresa Kok for your prompt action to help the fire victimas along 4th Mile, Jalan Klang Lama.
I am in your Seputeh Constituency; and will always remember you!
Best regards.

Terima Kasih Menteri Wilayah.
Salam 1 Malaysia.
“When the Moral Uplifting Society wanted to give him money, he asked them, why are you giving me money?”
and maketh me wonder about those who hang onto their crutches when they really don’t need it anymore
Raja Niong disgusted me. People are suffering from a fire and he seeks cheap publicity.
Did he mean no sokong BN means no aid from Jabatan Kebajikan Negeri?
These people are Malaysians. Raja Niong salary is paid by Malaysians. Regardless whether they voted for BN, Pakatan or do not even know what a vote is, they are entitled to the assistance as stipulated in the laws of Malaysia.
What 1Malaysia People First Performance Now?
Any update from DBKL on the power cable erected along Jalan Kelang Lama Third Mile going into Taman Bukit Desa?
Since these are things which i cannot achieve by myself and will need help from a MP just to get some confirmation on the status of the project.
Also what is the status of the “forsaken” school which is an eye-sore now and maybe due to the close proximity to TNB station in Taman Desa?
