I joined residents of Saujana Puchong on Sunday to protest in front of forestry area as it will be turned into a public cemetery.
The residents of Saujana Puchong and the surrounding areas have long protested against the proposed cemetery to be built in their neighbourhood. Our members in Puchong have been supporting them and joining them in all demonstrations in the past.
I did not feel the issue was that strong until I went to the site few weeks ago. I was really shocked to see the proposed cemetery next to a housing estate, i.e. Saujana Puchong. I then incorporate this issue in my memo on structural plan of MPSJ few weeks ago.

In fact, it is ridiculous for the state government to earmarked that piece of green lungs next to Saujana Puchong as cemetery. It again reflects the lack of planning and sensitivity on the part of Selangor state government.
Few days ago, I read in Chinese papers that the out-going ADUN of Seri Serdang, Satim said that he supports the green area to be turned to cemetery. I am quite shocked to read this statement from the elected representative of this area.
I told the press that the reason I led my members to stage a protest at the proposed cemetery is because I think I need to reiterate the stand of DAP Puchong on this issue.
I also urged all the candidates in Puchong to make known their stand on whether they agree to turn this piece of forestry land into cemetary or not.
