SEPUTEH MP Teresa Kok has been visiting Puchong recently and her visits have stirred up speculation that the DAP strong woman is planning to contest the Kinrara state seat.
Kok was among others who submitted objections for the Subang Jaya Municipal Council local draft plan on Monday.
When asked by reporters whether she was contesting the Kinrara seat, Kok said she was looking into the plight of Kinrara folks since Jalan Puchong was located next to her Seputeh parliamentary constituency.
“In fact, I’ve taken up a number of Puchong issues in the past and people do come to my Puchong office to seek help.
“Of course, my name has been mentioned everywhere about contesting in Kinrara but nothing is finalised,” she said.
Kok said she was making the submission on the local draft plan as an individual. Among the issues she questioned was the parking ratio for apartments and flats which she said the MPSJ had not stated in its master plan to increase the ratio.
“Also, I could see that a lot of new housing projects in Puchong cater for the middle and upper class residents. This is because one part of the plan states that in Bandar Putra Permai, the plan for land usage given to non-strata housing areas is 13.4% compared to 5.83% of land usage for strata houses.
“Obviously, non-strata refers to terrace and landed properties, which are not favourable to the lower income group of people. This is one development strategy that I disagree,” said Kok.

Kinrara assemblyman ready for a challenge
KINRARA assemblyman Dr Kow Cheong Wei has announced that he is all set to face a challenge from Wanita DAP secretary Teresa Kok at the next general election.
Kow, a first term MCA assemblyman, said he was confident that he would send Kok, the current Seputeh MP, packing as he had served his constituents well and they would fully back him up in the next general election.
“I don’t see it as a problem if Teresa Kok wants to challenge me in Kinrara. I am very confident that I can retain the seat based on my track record over the last four years,” he said.
Kow told StarMetro this when asked to comment on the possibility of Kok contesting the Kinrara state seat as she had been making regular visits to Puchong recently.
Kok’s visits have stirred up speculations that the DAP strong woman plans to contest the Kinrara state seat in Puchong.
On his performance, Kow said he had not only fulfilled all his election promises to the voters but had done so effectively.
Kok said that he was not worried about who he would face in the next general election.
“If Teresa Kok comes here, I will treat it as a contest between the MCA or BN and the DAP and not as between me and Teresa,” he said.
Kow said that as an elected representative, he was fully aware that his responsibility and commitment to the people.
“I have been serving and working very closely with the community leaders and the grassroots and am always there when my service is required,” he said.
“If Teresa Kok comes here, I will treat it as a contest between the MCA or BN and the DAP and not as between me and Teresa,” he said.
– a gentleman’s battle cry. I don’t know him nor his track record. Unlike some of those uncivilised specimens in the august house, he words has more sense and mannerism.
If he is a decent fellow, hope he can continue servicing the people and I just posted my best wishes in facebook that YB retains Seputih Seat.
Way to go, Sassy MP, way to go. Behind you all the way.
And when you win, what do we call you?
Sassy Assemblywoman?
SAssy MP go ahead to kinrara. We need you and we behind you all the way.
YB. A warm welcome to Kinrara if that is true. Change needed. Happy CNY to you and may the year of “RAT” be what you want to be.
God bless.
Rumors has it that one of Dato’ Ong Tee Keat’s prodigy Dato’ Chai Kim Seng will be contesting for Seputeh Parlimentary seat in the coming election. Apparently, he is not as easy as Banie Chin or Dr Sua
Rumors also has it that you’ll be contesting in Kinrara state seat becuase, its ‘easier’ to win since the incumbant ADUN Dr Kow Cheong Wei is deemed weak and Dato’ Lee Hwa Beng will be contesting a Parlimentary seat in the coming election and will not be ‘assisting’ Dr Kow in his area.
Are all these true?
