Hi folks,
I was supposed to upload some of the pictures taken on my trip to Sabah at the end of last month. They were taken at the forum organised by the party at Sandakan Hotel on 30th December 2007.
The forum was single-handedly organised by Anthony Teo and a few new members in Sandakan. Anthony Teo is a new member. I got to know him via email. He emailed his complain on a oil palm issue to me and we started to talk about the DAP in Sandakan, then he accepted my offer to help to rebuild the party in Sandakan.
Anthony looks like an honest person. He joined the party officially on 22nd December 2007, and we immediately gave him the task to organise a forum. He has done it well. There were about 150 people turned out for the forum that night.
We have a very attentive audience that night. After I spoke, I asked the audience to help to bear the cost of rental of the hotel, to our surprise, the donation that they gave that night was enough to cover all the expenses. Anthony was quite encouraged to see the turn out and response of the people in terms of donation.
Below are the speakers in the Sandakan forum that night.
Chan Foong Hin, secretary of DAP Tawau Branch. He drove all the way from Tawau to help out in the forum in Sandakan.
Pastor Jeffrey Kumin followed us from KK to Kudat to Sandakan. He did not go to church on that Sunday.
Dr Hiew Keng Cheu, he drove Lim Kit Siang and me from KK to Kudat, then from Kudat to Sandakan.
This is Anthony Teo. He organised a well attended forum in a few days time. Very efficient!
