Each year after Christmas, I make it a tradition to take my parents out of Kuala Lumpur for a year-end holiday.
This year, I brought them, along with my sister and two nephews, to Bali. My mum mentioned that she had never been to Bali in her life, so it felt like the perfect destination.
My father, who celebrated his 90th birthday two months ago, is still strong and walks unaided. My mum, at 87, can’t walk long distances, so we got her a wheelchair to ensure she could comfortably join us. Initially, my father was hesitant about the trip, worried that my mum might struggle with the travel.
However, with the help of my teenage nephews, we managed to enjoy a wonderful five-day trip together.
We visited several iconic landmarks in Bali, including the seaside Tanah Lot Temple, Kintamani, and the serene Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. The island boasts breathtaking scenery, but it is undeniably overcrowded. After experiencing Bali, we can no longer complain about traffic jams in Malaysia! The congestion here dampened our enthusiasm for traveling by car, but I truly admire our driver for his incredible patience navigating through it all.
Today, we’re heading back to Kuala Lumpur. I’m thankful for the pleasant trip and the cherished moments with my family. Goodbye, Bali! 😊
