Last Sunday evening, I was invited to the 1st Open Fide Rated Chess Championship 2023 held in Pearl Hotel at Old Klang Road.
I have not played chess for decades. I was surprised to see so many participants of different age groups joining this chess competition.
I was surprised to see participants from foreign countries in the competition too.
I was greeted by the organiser Hamid and the Pearl Hotel Management personnel. Hamid briefed about the competition.
Mr. Willy Iclicki (the chairman of FIDE Historical Commission) from France was present in the prize award ceremony too.
It is great to see Pearl Shopping Mall giving the space for DAT Chess Centre to host this event. I hope more healthy community events can be organised in such beautiful shopping mall.
