We oppose OVER-DEVELOPMENT at Taman Desa, Danau Desa & Bukit Desa
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has processed or approved new high rise & high density residential development with 18 tower blocks totalling 5,744 apartment units in Taman Desa, Danau Desa and Bukit Desa.
These high density projects would definitely impact on residents’ living environment. The development will cause massive traffic jam, force indiscriminating parking of cars at roadsides, congesting on allotted space for amenities and public green areas.
Residents are not aware of any infrastructure plan to mitigate congestion of traffic as there is no evidence of LRT or MRT station within reach to serve the increasing needs of commuters. There is also no indication of plan to improve utility services, namely water supply, drainage and sewage to support the rapid surge of the new 5,744 apartment units.
Many residents of Taman Desa are fearful of massive development. A collective people petition to DBKL is drawn to oppose over-development at Taman Desa and urge DBKL to professionally plan, review all new projects approved or pending approval.
Taman Desa residents are urged to sign the petition to DBKL to oppose high density projects without informed and comprehensive planning.
