Today afternoon, I joined the Purple Women Rally that oppose dirty/toxic politics organised by the some women’s NGO at Maju Junction, Kuala Lumpur. I spoke for 2 minutes to the crowd on the pick-up van.
I was surprised to see this rally drew more than 1,000 men and women. This time policemen didn’t attack or stop us but they helped to control the busy traffic in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, so that our rally can go on. Syabas!!👍👍
I was surprised to see the presence of the disabled people from Beautiful Gate and a pastor in this rally too.
The crowd cheered when the 93 years old Tun Siti Hasmah climbed up the pick-up van to deliver her speech. I was impressed to see Tun Dr Mahathir joined the rally as a silent observer till end of the rally without delivering any speech.
Well, Tun Mahathir is the recent victim of “toxic politics”. He has been defamed by UMNO and its Cybertroopers to the fullest. A chair was thrown at him when he spoke in the “Nothing to Hide” dialogue in Shah Alam last month. He is facing all the threats and defamation like the NGO activists and opposition politicians now.
