KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — Selangor DAP has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) against Telok Datuk assemblyman Loh Chee Heng after expelling the latter for alleged state fund misuse.
In a statement, Selangor DAP chief Tony Pua said the report was filed on May 11, before the party’s announcement today that its central disciplinary committee had investigated and found strong evidence of misconduct against Loh.
“DAP Selangor would like to reiterate the Party’s commitment in upholding our core values in promoting good governance, integrity and accountability,” said Pua who is Petaling Jaya Utara MP.
“We will not tolerate any actions by any of its leaders or members which betray the trust of the people we seek to represent and destroy the credibility of the Party,” he added.
He also said that the state DAP had received complaints from its members regarding alleged improprieties and had set up a sub-committee to investigate the allegations for the past eight weeks.
In a separate statement earlier, DAP acting national chairman Tan Kok Wai said the party’s disciplinary committee found “serious misconduct” in Loh’s use of funds allocated to his constituency by the Selangor government.
