Tonight I attended a mini fundraising dinner organiser by friends of a historian and writer Dr Ranjit Singh Malhi. Dr. Ranjit is writing a book on the history and contribution of then Sikh community in Malaysia.
I attended the dinner with Lau Weng San, ADUN for Kg Tunku in PJ. When I asked Lau to join me, he agreed immediately. Tonight he told me the reason he said yes to me was because he has read many history books written by Dr Ranjit Singh Malhi. So he is interested to meet Dr Ranjit personally.
I know Dr Ranjit at Kiara Hill as he is a regular jogger. He has good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. He is also a motivator and training consultant.
I support his idea of writing this book. It is important for him to document the development and contribution made by Sikhs, an ethnic minority in Malaysia.
I made a small contribution to his work. I hope more people will do the same, I am looking forward to read his book. Wishing him success.
