The Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng’s action in giving the press today a guided tour of his bungalow has proven what he has said in response to allegations regarding his purchase of the bungalow—that he has nothing to hide.
The photographs have certainly proven that his house is not comparable to Khir Toyo’s mansion in Shah Alam.
Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Shabudin Yahya’s failure to show up at the one on one meeting with Guan Eng also shows that the Umno MP is only brave to allege and accuse, but is not brave for a one on one meeting.
His absence actually is to be expected because his linking the purchase of Guan Eng’s purchase of the house to 2012 sale of government land in Taman Manggis to private developers is false and baseless.
Guan Eng’s immediate explanations and the subsequent media tour of the bungalow are enough to prove that he has nothing to hide.
I wish to remind Shabudin and other Umno MPs not to attempt to make false allegations over the house purchase to divert public attention from the serious problems that Umno is facing.
There is no doubt that Umno is in crisis due to its internal power struggle and the 1 MDB problem faced by the Prime Minister.
But any attempt to try to divert attention will fail simply because facts are facts and lies are just lies.
Umno can fabricate lies but the lies will remain lies.
I applaud Guan Eng’s courage in facing the allegations directly and boldly and the many Malaysians who have taken to the social media to express their support for him proves that Umno’s attempt to smear him will fail.
Umno and Shabudin may be able to fool some BN members, but there is no way they can fool the thinking Malaysians.
