Zaid to attend “Free Teresa Kok” caucus meeting 3pm today!

Posted on Wednesday, 17-09-2008Wednesday, 17-09-2008 by DAP Seputeh

Zaid Ibrahim to attend – “Free MP Teresa Kok” parliamentary caucus inaugural meeting.
MP for Batu Gajah, Fong Po Kuan, co-ordinating secretary convening the inaugural meeting of the “Free MP Teresa Kok” parliamentary caucus in Parliament (Wednesday 17.9.08) at 3 p.m. has informed me that Datuk Zaid Ibrahim will attend.

I phoned up Zaid from Kota Kinabalu where I am attending a Sabah DAP forum “Malaysia – Towards a New Era” and the first Minister in the nation’s history to have resigned from the Cabinet on a point of principle confirmed his concern for the incarceration of MP Teresa Kok under the Internal Security Act (ISA) and that he would attend the meeting of the proposed “Free MP Teresa Kok” parliamentary caucus.

I hope to see Barisan Nasional Ministers and MPs, as well as the Speaker and Deputy Speakers, attending the meeting to demonstrate the maturity of the Malaysian Parliament where Parliamentarians can distinguish between parliamentary and party considerations and unite on a single footing to advance the cause of a first-world Malaysian Parliament.

Zaid Ibrahim’s presence will be good for the caucus. Goes to show he’s still a decent fellow even though he’s from UMNO. I wonder those MCA, Gerakan and PPP fellows have the scrota gumption to do what Zaid is going to do.

When one does not depend on Party to go by
One trusts one’s own principles to live by
One will get used to principled life by and by
The moment one learns to say to nonsense ‘Goodbye!’

Dato Zaid, many many thanks to you for your strong support to stop the using of ISA on innocent Malaysian especially Teresa Kok, Raja Petra and the Hindraf members.

You are the kind of leader that Malaysian need. Not like the present leaders who only know how to create racial tension and unneccessary chaos to the public.

MCA, MIC, Gerakan and the remaining component parties of BN, you guys have to do something before your parties become weak too like UMNO. Make your strong stands on the national issues especially regarding the ISA, don’t continue be the yes-man to UMNO. Or you will have no place at all in the next general election.

Be you still in BN or (joining) PR, Malaysia really need better leaders and government for a better future.
