read this from a tax update this morning.

“The Windfall Profit Levy (Crude Palm Oil and Crude Palm Krnel Oil) Order 2008, which imposed a windfall profit levy on the production of crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) with effect from 1 July 2008 has been revoked with effect from 15 July 2008. It has been decided to impose the levy on the production of oil palm fruit instead. This means the levy is now shifted from the millers to estate owners.”

I remember 2 things being said.

    – during GE, many people question that PR do not have the experience to govern.

    – last year, PM Lee Hsien Loong (who once was derided as taking over father’s business) revealed that Singapore has started learning to construct dikes from the Dutch because in 25 to 50 years time the tiny dot will face raising sea levels.

    Form your own conclusions

    lee wee tak,

I think it’s premature to say PR do not have the experience to govern. In Penang, the PR government led by the DAP is well received by the people of all races. DAP-PKR coalition government is now making its presence felt. What CM Guan Eng has done so far, distributing free rice and RM100 reduction of water bill for 100,000 Penang households with income less than RM1,500, smacks of socialism but this is what the general population want amid economic gloom. The sprucing up of KOMTAR and Georgetown will be welcomed by all. I also heard that a master plan for the joint development of Penang, Perak and Kedah is being drafted. I’m an optimist, and all I can say is that things will certainly change for the better for the 5.5 million people in the three states.

Singapore has the resources to do things that even big countries can only dream of. The island city state can buy 100 most advanced jet-fighters costing up to 10 billion USD, there is no reason to doubt that it can build dikes as well as the Dutch and spend tens of billions for its survival. The fate befalling the tiny low lying South Pacific island states such as Kiribati and Tuvalu being submerged by rising sea level caused by melting ice in the Artics must have influenced the leaders into making this extraordinary decision.

    Hi Teresa..

Can u help raise the issue of subsidies(fleet card) to those tipper lorry which is transport sand and quarry for construction.. I dont understand why they can have the benefits of subsidy! Many lorry owner of tipper truck didnt know why federal government didnt help them to subsidies..

This question is best point out to The Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) YB SHAHRIR BIN ABDUL SAMAD and our beloved Prime Minister for his answer..

Below is the qualify lorry & truck
JENIS-JENIS KENDERAAN YANG LAYAK MENERIMA SUBSIDI

    1 BAS SEKOLAH
    2 BAS EKSPRES
    3 BAS BERHENTI-HENTI
    4 BAS MINI
    5 BAS PENGANTARA
    6 KERETA SEWA
    7 TEKSI
    8 VAN MAYAT
    9 LORI MAYAT
10 AMBULAN (DIKENDALIKAN OLEH BADAN SUKARELA)
11 BOMBA (DIKENDALIKAN OLEH BADAN SUKARELA)
    12 LORI KARGO AM

Izzit at the past didnt add those tipper lorry then thats mean future there also no need to qualify it in nowadays petol high era!? Prime Minister always saying helping those small and medium business then why didnt PM allowing those owner to have subsidies? We hope federal government can be a government that cn help everyone not those being selected only..

There are also a various kind of lorry and truck businesses didnt get fleet card benefits..

The owner now are very affected by the petrol rising currently eventhough there’s some rise in the rent.. Always heard that others transportation get this benefits but theirs didnt have..

Rumours saying that mostly owner of this kind of lorry are chinese that why government didnt allowing they have subsidies..

Federal Government need to improve and change!! Ppl hoping that government can repaired those unfairness system that still appears now! If they dont want change those evil system then let rakyat change for them..

Hope u will study this and if can try to rise this in Parlimen.. Thank you
