Najib Is Urged to Take a Stand and Take Action Against ‘Burger Selling’ and ‘Butt Exercise’ Protestors Outside Ambiga’s Residence

Posted on Wednesday, 16-05-2012Wednesday, 16-05-2012 by Teresa

Media Statement by Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh & DAP Wanita Secretary, Shah Alam, 16 May 2012

I am shocked and disgusted that the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Khalid Abu Bakar, has not taken any action against the groups of ‘butt exercise protesters’ and ‘burger stall protesters’ who conducted lewd, threatening and inexplicable activities outside the home of Bersih Co-Chairperson Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan over the past few days.

These series of acts and operating a row of food stalls outside a residential home, is criminal intimidation. The police must not ignore such acts and just claim that it is trivial and conclude that it does not amount to an offence.

Such acts, of “threat” and “sexual harassment” in nature under Section 506 and 509 of the Penal Code, should be condemned and acted on to protect the sanctity of one’s home and further discourage the intimidation of Ambiga and her family. These acts not only disrupt the peace of her home but also insult Ambiga’s dignity.

I call on Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, as the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, to chastise the protestors for these inappropriate acts and the police for their inaction.

The silence and procrastination from the government to do so would only give credence to the perception that these ‘protest acts’, by the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association (PVTM) and petty traders group Ikhlas, are State-sponsored harassment programmes.

It has been reported that Ikhlas has promised to conduct a bigger demonstration outside Ambiga’s house on May 24th. Does this not amount to a threat to the safety of Ambiga and her family?

I urge Najib to instruct the police to investigate the matter and prevent further acts of disorder and intimidation against Ambiga and any other Bersih leaders.

    Hi YB KOK,

I don’t blame you for writing this article but sadly I’m afraid you had lost the plot.

Firstly, I don’t see any relation of threat under Section 506 and 509 of the Penal Code for having a ‘burger stall’ outside a residential house & I also don’t see any threat in performing ‘butt-up exercise’ in front of a house. After all, the exercise was performed with clothes on & it’s only natural to say ‘butt-up exercise’ is an essential part of an exercise routine. Dear YB KOK, if you have no whatsoever interest in doing exercise or perhaps is all the while an UNHEALTHY freak, I reckoned you check this with a friend who does regular exercise before trying to be a so-called “SMART AH LIAN” by opening your mouth bluntly. Bending over with clothes on is a common routine in exercise & is NOT tantamount to ‘sexual harassment’. Pls. kindly note.

Secondly, pls. refrain from being a SORE LOSER over this matter. If Ambiga under the ‘hijack-ship’ of Pakatan Rakyat can ignorantly & irresponsibly have their so-called rally, then, why should Ambiga make an issue over ‘burger stalls’ & ‘butt-up exercises’ outside her house. After all, what’s beyond her house gate is NO LONGER considered her property. Moreover, having ‘burger stalls’ & ‘butt-up exercise’ is much BETTER than having annoying rallies of which only sparked violence & trouble, correct???

Come on YB KOK!!!, it’s time to get real. Ambiga under the ‘hijack-ship’ of Pakatan Rakyat initially thought they had a game plan called BERSIH to put the Govt. under stress but in the end the Govt. was 1 step more ‘pro-active’ & is now DOOMING Ambiga under the ‘hijack-ship’ of Pakatan Rakyat in their own game. Conclusion is that both Ambiga & Pakatan Rakyat had been defeated in the game they created themselves. It’s simple as this. Now that your party had been defeated in your own game, it’s time to “WAKE-UP” & “OWN-UP” to the defeat rather than groaning & moaning like an OLD AUNTIE complaining about the price of “kangkung” which had shot up in the wet market.

If you can’t handle ‘spiciness’, then, refrain from eating ‘chili’ in the 1st place.

    Wise-up, AUNTIE KOK!!! Thank you.

Teresa, don’t you see the propaganda value of the latest mooning demonstration in front of Ambiga’s residence?
Have the recorded material shown as widely as possible with a caption that UMNO is abusing their armed forces vets in this shameful way.
Debasing them in the retirement instead of letting them live their lives in comfort after their service to the country.
    Mull on that!

Hisham, his sidekicks the IGP and DIGP are beholdened only to Umno’s causes. If these guys were in Singapore they will be janitors washing toilets. They have no business to be in charge of the security of the country and people.Law enforcement officers are supposed to be non partisan, not running dogs to the ruling regime.

Those fellas cooking hamburgers in front of Ambiga’s houses are a bunch of morons, sent there by their masters to intimidate Ambiga and future leaders of protestors. These fellas are an insult to their families and their own intelligience. They are fools who never even have the brains to think what if it was the other way around. That it was others selling roast pig in front of their homes. Then the bigger fools of butt dancers showing their bare asses off to the apes.
