Press statement by Teresa Kok, Chairperson of DAP Selangor,

I read with great regret that a personal letter by Dr Cheah Wing Yin to the DAP leadership has been carried by The Star today without the permission and confirmation of Dr Cheah and the DAP leadership.
The DAP Selangor State Committee has gone through many rounds of serious discussions on the selection of the party’s councillors in Selangor. All DAP councillors in MBPJ have professional backgrounds and they are among the most dedicated and effective council representatives in the state.
We therefore categorically deny the allegations made in the said news report.
The Selangor state committee will be meeting Dr Cheah very soon to determine the veracity of the letter and discuss any other related issues.
In the meantime, it is with great confidence that I, as DAP Selangor Chairperson, offer my support and backing to the MBPJ councillors and stand by our selections and assure residents of Petaling Jaya that these councillors will be able to serve the rakyat’s needs effectively without fear or favour.
