SHAH ALAM: Former executive councillor Dr Hasan Ali (Gombak Setia-Independent) spent the most amount of money to revamp his office from 2008 to 2011, the Menteri Besar disclosed on Tuesday.
Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim told the state assembly that Hasan used RM329,327 to refurbish his office for the past four years.
Other executive councillors like Ean Yong Hian Wah (RM146,535) and Rodziah Ismail (RM119,048) spent less than half of Hasan’s figure.
Khalid was refutting Hasan’s allegations that Dr Xavier Jayakumar and Dr Halimah Ali used even more funds to renovate their offices.
The state’s record showed that Dr Jayakumar only spent RM69,992 during the past four years while Dr Halimah Ali did not renovate her office at all.
The controversy over the executive councillors’ office renovations was sparked by Azmin Ali’s (Bukit Antarabangsa-PKR) criticism of Hasan last Friday over his “wasteful” expenditure.
However, Khalid said no action would be taken against Hasan as he had complied with the state’s Treasury procedures.
It is so obvious that Hassan Ali is a man who cares for the glamour that goes round with him regardless of the cost. Good on you Elizabeth for being the last for a change ! Will all the deceitful and corrupted Umno scumbags and parasites use this as an example of walk the talk and may be the country will take a longer time to join Greece, Iceland and Italy if it gets reelected in the coming GE ! I say if it gets reelected, a very fat hope and an illusion.
Really, there must be explanation as to why renovations were needed – for was not the PR Exco’s just entering and occupying rooms that were before these used by the past BN Exco…
The cost of renovations are also a way bit high – maybe some explanation may be needed. Transparency…. your room renovation cost is lowest – but many have spend more that the cost of building a ‘low-cost’ house…
Did the former BN exco members and/or others destroy the offices when they lost Selangor?? Why? Now, that the cost of renovations have been revealed – there must be some transparency and accountability with regard such high renovation costs..
The costs are still high; an avg household would think twice about a RM5k addition on household renovation/furniture.
But why did Mr. Akidah lie through his teeth about his own and the other two excos’ expenditure?
how we wish all exco members from Bn team declare the same? indeed there should be some transparency to shed light on the high cost of reno by above top 3 name list.
