The public is starting to send in graphic logo/badges for the Free Teresa campaign. I encourage them to keep doing so as the grassroot is the foundation of every successful campaign.
Yesterday we were told to remove from the blog our Yellow Ribbon for Teresa and to replace it with a Red Ribbon. We shall resist from being dictated to by another arm of the Free Teresa campaign because this is Teresa’s personal blog and we don’t want to turn it into a soulless public bulletin board.
“A yellow ribbon is a symbol with various meanings, mostly associated with those waiting for the return of a loved one or of military troops who are temporarily unable to come home.” — Wikipedia.
“The red ribbon is a symbol for both drug prevention and for the fight against AIDS.” — Wikipedia.
The red ribbon they are now using is an EXACT of the international HIV/AIDS Awareness one.
Another logo being used has a swastika-like image. This is untimely given Ahmad Ismail’s recent comment that the Chinese must not be like the Jews. Swastika-Jews-holocaust. We should NOT let the Free Teresa campaign be misinterpreted by the grassroot and/or authorities.
Please continue to send in graphics highlighting Teresa’s detention and the ISA. We’ll try to upload as many as possible to Teresa’s Facebook supporters’ page and to this blog because we want this to be a supporter-based initiative. You can email the graphics and/or messages of support to Teresa at [email protected].
You may freely use any graphics, comments or statements in this blog for lawful purposes.
well, there is a group of us from Seputeh started a small silent protest and support by putting on red ribbon to show our concern over our MP. The reason we use red ribbon was that in the first candlelight vigil, people are wearing red ribbon including Teresa’s parents. We are putting red ribbon on our shirt and car antenna.
It’s fine to keep the red ribbon. But to tell us to REMOVE the yellow ribbon is uncalled for, unwarranted and interfering with our right to protest in the manner we choose.
Comments on this thread is now close as both sides have had their say and we don’t need distraction.
