Hi, do you remember the post I put up last week on the reply from PM’s Department on my Parliament question on BN paying RM200 to Kelantan voters staying in KL to go back to Kelantan cast their votes?
I strongly criticised both the ACA and the EC for not taking action in my press conference together with Sivarasa (PKR MP for Subang), Dr Dzulkifli (PAS MP for Kuala Selangor) and Liew Chin Tong (DAP MP for Bukit Bendera).
Two days after the news was published in the media and my blog, a ACA officer called to me to record a statement. I was happy to receive that call, this shows that our press conference and protest worked! However, I really can’t go for statement taking during working hours as I have to attend to Parliamentary matters and the Selangor government affairs.
The ACA officers then called my office a few times. I then asked my assistant to tell them that if they can interview me during non-office hours or weekend, then I am very willing to cooperate with them. They then agreed to come to take my statement tomorrow at Parliament House.
Ha ha, the ACA officers are so serious and friendly this time, I hope they can really move towards being a first world ACA :-))
This woman with two kids told me that she has received RM200 from BN camps.
The photo in my computer shows a banner at the camp that distribute RM200 to Kelantan voters urging voters to vote for BN.

Kok tells ACA she has photos of voters being given RM200
SEPUTEH MP Teresa Kok has challenged the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) with photographs of voters being paid RM200 to return to Kelantan to cast their votes for Barisan Nasional in the March 8 general election.
She questioned whether it was accurate that Barisan had been cleared of all wrongdoing in this matter as stated in newspapers yesterday, when she had such tangible proof.
“All these pictures that I have with me now are proof of Barisan’s involvement in paying and ferrying voters to Kelantan from Kuala Lumpur.
“I know because I was there in Bukit Jalil where hundreds of Kelantan locals were lining up to receive their RM200 reward if they agreed to cast their votes back home,” she told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
Kok challenged the ACA to interview her in their investigations and to scrutinise the photos she had taken.

ACA clears Barisan
THE Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) has cleared Barisan Nasional of any wrongdoing in ferrying people to Kelantan for them to vote in the recent general election.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, in a written reply to Teresa Kok (DAP – Seputeh) said the ACA investigated the matter and did not find any evidence to substantiate a case of wrongdoing under the Anti-Corruption Act.
He added that the ACA conducted the investigation although it had not received any report or complaint over the issue.
“The ACA took the proactive approach to observe, survey and investigate,” he said.
On another matter, Abdullah said the Election Commission was not ready to implement an automated voter registration process.
This was because under the automated system, voters would be required to cast their votes at polling centres according to their addresses stated in their MyKad.
Abdullah said that in reality a voter might had moved to a new address without informing the National Registration Department of the change in address.
This would create problems for the voter because he would have to vote at the old address stated in the MyKad, he said in a written reply to Liew Chin Tong (DAP – Bukit Bendera).
“If a general election is called, the voter may have trouble knowing which polling station he needs to go to, and many voters may decide not to cast their votes,” Abdullah added.
Looking into the issue is one thing. Doing something abt it, that’s another. Lets see what the ACA’s action is first.
Do they get statement from the newspaper reporter? I remember I saw the news. If this can disqualify BN MPs it will be good news indeed? Put more pressure on EC.
Good start but how would it end, as rightly pointed out by Bruce.
Abdullah Badawi stated grandly that our ACA would be reformed, given more bite and be like the HK counterpart. KJ stated in parliament that ACA should be given the power to prosecute. Badawi and Nazri rounded up the story by saying ACA is still under the PM department and the power of prosecution should remain with the AG.
I am not convinced.
The ACA had cleared BN of any wrong doings,so what are they up to? To obtain a statement from you now,I hope they don’t have harassment on their mind.
YB Teresa Kok <
Well done . Keep the pressure moving . PK MPs should form a task force to monitor all BN MPs and Ministers, when opportunity comes , make ACA or POlice reports against them for seditious , abuse of power etc . Compile statistics and question them in Parliament if no action taken .
good job ..but I have little confidence in the ACA
i am not look good for the ACA in investigate this cases…in my opinion, this $200 to Kelantan voter might be investigated, but at the end, will it be another case that closed and wont be announced to public..or some ppl might be charged but only the “small fish” will be charged and not the “big fish” in behind who giving this order?as v can see from many example from the past
Dear YB,
It’s certainly great news. I hope they mean what they are doing. Otherwise, its a waste of your time. Can you get any written assurance from them before you agree to be interviewed? I’m not sure if they just wanted to be seen taking action and then issue a NFA (no further action) later. Good luck.
Dear YB Teresa,
One more thing, shouldn’t we propose to ensure that the E.C is just and fair, they should report direct to the Agong or the Head of the State. In the recent election, most of us have the impression that E.C reports to the B.N ?
E.C should be neutral and been seen as independent. Same goes for the Judiciary system.
However……..with the mentality of the majority in this nation….I guess they will take a long while to really understand the essence of “independence” and “conflict or interest”. May the Lord bless them so they get intelligent and wiser …..faster !
YOU NEED TO IMPLEMENT THREE THINGS
(I) ANTI CORRUPTION COMMITTEE ( BRO LIM-SEGAMBUT HAS ALREADY SET ONE FOR THIS PURPOSE) FULLY STAFFED WITH ONGOING COMMITMENT and endeavour TO RESOLVE THE CASES) ATTEMPTS TO CENTRALISE WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE IN MANANGMENT, RESOLVING CASES, MAXIMISING ON THE LIMTED RESOURCE AND AVOIDING OVERLAPPING TASKS
(II) A PROCESS THAT SUBSCRIBES TO PROCEDURAL FAINESS- ENCOMPASSING THE FOLLOWING STEPS: DUE DELIGENCE, INFORMATION (EVIDENCE) GATHERING,COLLATING, COMPILING, RECORDING STATEMENTS, PREPARING THE CASES FOR ALTIMATE COURT APPEARNCE, MAKING STATEMENT AND LIASON WITH RELEVANT NGOS/ GOVT BODIES ON SUCH CASES, FOLLOW UP ON THE STATUS OF THE CASES AND FINALLY A PROBLEM RESOLUTION FRAMEWORK
a) Definition of the problem
b) Identifying options
c) Evaluation options
d) Implementating the options
e) Start all over again with (a) if it is necessary
Hon, wish you luck in your work
“What you have seen with your eyes do not bring hastily to court, for what will you do in the end if your neighbours puts you in shame.
if you argue with a neighbour, do not betray another man’s confidence, or he who hears it may shame you and you will never lose your bad reputation”
Proverbs 25: 8
Teresa, are you sure, really sure that you are not taken for a ride by the ACA?
Are you sure that you are not being harrassed by them under the guise of investigating the matter?
I think that you’ll be dragged over the coals for your trouble and the whole investigation will be for naught!
CROSS THE FLOOR OF PARLIAMENT, YOU MCA RUNNING DOGS !
The Chinese have voted overwhelmingly in favour of the opposition DAP or PKR and it was only in constituencies where the predominance of Malay voters caused the return of MCA candidates. This voting pattern demonstrated the community support of the Chinese for the opposition and therefore if those MCA Chinese Members of Parliament have any ethical and moral sense, they have a duty to cross the floor of Parliament and join with the opposition. That is the right thing to do since if the MCA claims to represent the Chinese community, then the voting pattern shows that they are on the wrong side of Chinese preference. If on the other hand such members of Parliament would rationalize their stay with UMNO on the argument that since it was the Malay votes that got them elected then they are morally committed to stay with UMNO in Parliament; but that argument will be turned on its head because the MCA claims to represent the Chinese not the Malays. That being the case they are morally obligated to either resign their seat or cross the floor of Parliament because the Chinese supports the opposition.
The Malaysian general election of 2008 is the first election in Malaysian history that makes any sense at all because in all past elections the voting was rigged to return the UMNO led alliance to form government and consequently does not represent the true will of the minority voters. In the first election previously in 1967 the voting pattern of the minority races demonstrated that they would prefer to return an opposition to government and that was the election that prompted UMNO to organize a pogrom of minority races; and this time around all the indications point to a preference by the minority races to vote OPPOSITION, hence the childish symbolic actions of Hishamuddin wielding of that Malay keris that instead of frightening the minority races provoked them to vote en bloc for the opposition. The keris scared no one, it only helped the opposition to really win support and the smell of possible success and to put UMNO out of government for the first time in Malaysian history. The general election for 2008 spell the end of race based politics and it is this if not for anything else that MCA must take heed that they bear a special and heavy responsibility to cross the floor of Parliament because it has always been the betrayal by the MCA & the MIC that has given UMNO the pretext to pervert the Malaysian Constitution to ENTRENCH SPECIAL PRIVILEGES FOR AS LONG AS UMNO IS IN POWER. This election marks the end of that distortion of our Malaysian democratic rights. We have for the first time in history put our rights as Malaysians in proper context; we have the last chance to be what we really are, MALAYSIAN CHINESE OR MALAYSIAN INDIANS OR MALAYSIAN MALAYS; we are truly for the first time CITIZENS OF A MALAYSIAN MALAYSIA; and it took us 50 years of hard slough to get there AND MCA OR MIC OUGHT NOT AGAIN SELL US OUT TIS TIME. The MCA is duty bound to cross the floor of Parliament to join Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to form the GOVERNMENT of a truly Malaysian Malaysia that represents all Malaysians.
I want to further emphasize my point of view. I suggest that for those Chinese from MCA who are obligated to cross the floor of Parliament should do so in their personal capacity as Members of Parliament and not as representing MCA because they have a duty to remove RACE BASED POLITICS for the good of future generation of Chinese & Indian and Malays. Race based politics is and has been totally unacceptable and it has always been divisive and an abuse of our human rights; let MCA & MIC fade into the background of history as a failed model for good governance. I suggest that MCA should become a sports club for Chinese.
I had earlier stated that at this time in Malaysian history MCA carry a particularly heavy duty to act in the best interests of the Chinese people. This victory for the Barisan Alternative has come about due to the incompetence of PM Abdullah Badawi and to the power of the internet and the accident of history that Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim was expelled from UMNO under very treacherous and bitter circumstances.. Were it not for the power play between Mahatir Mohd., and Dato Seri Anwar, UMNO will still dominate Malaysian politics and the condition for a democratic change of government will not emerge for any fore-seeable future. I say that these circumstances will not converge again for a very long time IF MCA ACT IRRESPONSIBLY and not cross the floor of Parliament. This window of opportunity exist for only the life of this parliament and if MCA Members of Parliament REMAIN IN COALITION WITH UMNO, MIC then the UMNO government will survive until the next general election when let me guarantee you Malaysians all (of all races) that UMNO will heavily GRASP GOVERNMENT sans election or with election, no matter what because Umno has close links with some institutions.
In these circumstances UMNO can rigged all elections and have a parliament of all UMNO Members of Parliament and any challenge will be decided by UMNO Judges. Malaysia will revert to the Malaysia of old. I say to our running dogs of MCA members of Parliament that you cannot seal and condemn all Chinese to a fate that is as good as death. This year 2008 is the tipping point in the history of Malaysian history, will we survive as Chinese or Indians depend on our running dogs from the MCA to act honourably and responsibly ! CROSS THE FLOOR YOU MCA traitors.
damocles,
if the final outcome is “fil tutup, tiada tindakan seterusnya” then it is more PR than anything else.
if the whistle blower is investigated instead, then there is no chance from the previous administration
if there are fishes jailed, I’ll buy you nasi lemak and teh tarik; and cook a dish of steam pork with salted fish for YB since it’s her favorite
Dear Teresa,
I dont know where is Mr Lo Guo Burne’s website, but due to his “correc, correct” fame, I hope you can sound to him our worries..
Has he taken any form of precautions or insurance from being silenced by all the top gun in this SAD country whom he had exposed in his recording as really corrupted?
With the 80% more info he has in china, wont these highly powerful corrupt people try something to stop him?
we therefore ask him to be extremely vigilant, as i really believe, every minute of the day his life is in danger from all those corrupted BN umnoputras
Teresa,
Good attempt. But if I were you, I would not harbour any hope in ACA.
You know the outcome, even if they investigate and come back with strong evidence. You know who they report to?
Please minimise time waste on them – instead gather all the evidence and tell rakyat of all races throughout the country. Why we don’t see positive development results in the country? The money has gone to….
It is rakyat’s power to teach these arrogant, abusive politicians their lessons!
Soon, they will brand you as “busy nurturing a personal hero image for yourself”. Emulate Annuar for his Lingam Tape scandal. This will send shivers down their spines!
If they can conduct an investigation without fear or favor with an outcome that incriminate the BN, we would have ubi-kayu grow on trees and durians in the ground.
On second thought, can they even conduct a thorough investigation? Thorough as in painstakingly careful and accurate. Now, where are those durians under the soil?
YB,
Who decides on the promotions and increments of the ACA, Judges etc. As long as you have the BN deciding on their future , you will never be able to get the truth out of any investigations carried out by any Government Department Heads.
congrats YB for taking this bold step. however, i trust that YB remembered what YB said, before about not showing the witness (in this case, the woman and her two kids ) to the media. in case YB forgot (which is understable – since we all are human), pls refer back to your post:-
http://teresakok.com/2008/03/07/evidence-of-bn-sending-phantom-voters-to-kelantan-2/

I then sat with a woman with two kids. She told me she was from Pengkalan Chepa. She showed me and to reporters an evelope containing RM200 that she had collected from the counter. The press then took photos of her and me. She was a bit hesitant to be photographed but then we assured her that her full face would not be published in the media.
~Unqte~
However, looking at the pictures above – I doubt that the woman and her two kids full face were masked when they are shown to the media/in this website.
YB, have they changed their mind, and agreed to show their full face to the public?
hon,
What is the status of this pursuit for justice? ………our “FIRST WORLD ORDER” OPPOSITION
