I understand that my interview that was published in Malaysiakini on November 23, 2010 may has been perceived to be offensive and intervening in the PKR party elections.
The interview was about my view on the DAP Selangor state election. I did not criticise PKR domestic affairs any where. Here is the
transcript of the interview that was sent to me by Malaysiakini journalists, to show you what I have actually said and the context in which it was said.

To: Teresa Kok
the question was asked by both me and joseph:
“What are the key issues in DAP Selangor that you want to tackle? Particularly if you want to push the agenda of unity? There are some
grassroot with dissatisfaction and disgruntlement towards the leadership, what are the issues that they are not happy about? Before
this you mentioned about Tee Book Hock issue, any other issues that they are not happy about?”
Then you answered:
“Actually I find that different areas, their dynamics and the problems are different, whenever you have a change of councillors, problem will
start (laugh). So people that have been dropped will surely be unhappy. Also different areas, in PJ you have different set of problems, Klang you have different set of problems also and other areas. Is a matter of how you handle it and sometimes it is really not easy to handle the differences among branches and local leaders. Is not easy because different issues in different areas. When you say that certain people unhappy of course those areas that have problems, differences, they are unhappy to certain leaders.”
“But for me, like what I said just now, is very important for us to be united, to be seen united.”
“You look at (err), maybe I shouldn’t criticise PKR but because the election process, you know certain members come out to create a scene
and picked up by the BN media, it also has affected PKR image to a certain extent.
“So that shows that for all the members in Pakatan Rakyat regardless of parties, everyone is important you know, and every member, every
councilor, every JKK member ketua kampong, they can really pull the party down or make Pakatan Rakyat look ugly. ”
“You have seen very clearly in the past two years what had happened, you know. So I will talk about why unity is important because even
grassroots member nowadays can create a scene and make the party look very ugly, also. Because BN controlled media is just waiting for
chance you know to highlight the disunity in the Pakatan Rakyat parties.”

I hope this transcript of my interview will help to clear the air.
Certain portion of the video interview here also published in Malaysiakini website:

Political party machinery must functions like a forward moving train: the wagons are hooked onto each other and they all follow the train’s head; and, it cannot be otherwise.
Very often young political party faces the problem of derailment owing to the head suddenly come to a halt or the wagon is misaligned.
So during party election, it is important that the voters in each wagon are reminded to behave in a mature and civilize manner when choosing their leader.
If everyone behaves, the train would not only be able to move forward, it will also reach its destination faster with everyone inside intact and happy.
Teresa, from what I know, the PR and its component parties are very keen to do a good job for the people.
That’s the most important starting point.
The sincerity and the goodwill is there.
Of course, there will be spoilers in the party and in due time, these will be sorted out.
That is what is happening or has happened.
The BN can seize on all these but to no avail because man for man, woman for woman, those in the BN are carrying plenty of baggage more than those in the PR! That is, of course, a another big plus point!
These BN people, who live in glass houses, like to throw stones – contrary to the famous saying “those who live in glass houses should not throw stones!”.
To say that the BN is envious of the PR is a serious understatement! They’re in a shade of dark green!!
Just hold a steady course and no amount of sniping from the BN will detract you and your colleagues from your destination; the destination of the people as well.
