YB Puan Teresa Kok Suh Sim (Seputeh) minta Menteri Dalam Negeri menyatakan apakah urusniaga syarikat Dato’ Othman Talib, Web Power Sdn Bhd dengan PDRM merupakan percanggahan kepentingan terhadap jawatan beliau sebagai Ahli Suruhanjaya Pasukan Polis. Kenapakah Kementerian tidak mengambil tindakan terhadap beliau.
Jawapan:
Tuan Yang Dipertua,
great work YB. At least there is a result in what you did…better late than never.
hope this would be a precedent
Kalu ‘percanggahan kepentingan’ macam ini diakui oleh kerajaan BN, maka mesti masih banyak lagi keadaan bercorak korupsi masih berlaku di malaysia bolehland.
Macam pembelian scorpene dan sukhoi… he he he
With this reply is this issue closed from now? Will the Rakyat accepts such answer and reply? By just resigning from position, …… everything is closed and settled!!!!! As a Rakyat and a Tax Payer, I can not accept such answer with no proper action taken. After making so much $$$$$$ millions and billions of ringgit, anybody wouldn’t mind resigning and enjoy life as there will be no further action taken on him.
There are more questions behind this:
1) How many projects and tenders were awarded to Web Power Sdn Bhd? What was the total value?
2) Who approved all these projects and tenders to Web Power Sdn Bhd? Why Web Power sdn Bhd was not screen through before being awarded?
3) What was the process and procedure of awarding these projects and tenders?
I am sure with such answer and reply from the ministry, it would definetly encourage more people to follow & make such practice to get easy $$$$$$$.
Friends, this is how the government has been practising for the interest of some SUPER VIPS and what hurts most is they are taking the TAX PAYER money.
YB, please take further approach and investigation about this matter. Publicize this for the Rakyat to know and aware of this.
Thank you.
Looks like Malaysia has turned into a “prematured ageing” nation wherein any Tom, Dick or Harry who may be in their thirties or forties are being called “datuk”. What a pity, we have a whole nation of “old folks”.
DEar YB
RPK’s expose implied that there is a link between WP S/b, Dato OT and a cerain Triad Ganster Chief. He also implies that the $4b contract was not subject to open tender and that I raja Polis gave a written letter of recomm to WP S/B.
So, YB, please do not accept this answer in Parliament that OT resigned and so we should close the whole matter.
I too would resign from the ASPP (ceremonial non-paying post) at the drop of a hat, if I stood to lose $4b or to cover up so the ACA need not investigate (not that I hold much hope from the ACA).
Please, please don’t give us the impression that MP’s think that the voting public are naive or stupid!!
You must continue questioning this and the India Ink red-herring (did they actually order & receive it or cover up an admin screw-up)in Parliament like a rotweiller playing harmonica on a robber’s behind!!
Our patience is wearing thin!!
Dear YB,
As a concerned tax paying citizen, I would like to ask you whether there is any way to audit the efficiency of our police force in terms of crime solving. It appears that our police are less and less involved with security of the rakyat and more and more involved with “crowd control”.
Also I feel a lot of emphasis is being placed on CCTV surveillance, which I feel is simply a waste of time.
Most government departments, especially with counter services perform some kind of audit to maintain or improve quality and I would honestly like to know if the PDRM does the same.
It appears, at least to a simple rakyat like myself, that many reported crimes actually go uninvestigated and unprosecuted. And in the cases of the missing children, excuses after excuses as to why no one can be charged in court.
Is there any way to audit the efficiency of the police force? I propose 3 simple audits in terms of
1. The ratio of reported crimes to the numbers prosecuted.
2. The ratio of violent reported crimes to the numbers successfully prosecuted with a conviction.
3. Time taken from the time a report is made to time from first arrival at the scene of the crime.
As a simple taxpayer I would eagerly await the results of the above questions if you find them fit to post at parliment.
The way police handle a crime scene – even a simple house breakin is appaling, even with evidence left by the perpatrator, no attempt is made to dust for fingerprints, and I’m speaking from experience, with 2 breakins in my home in the space of around 5 months. I’ve even been mugged once, fought back and managed to bring the mugger’s bag and hammer to the cops, who didn’t even make an attempt to use gloves while handing evidence.
There is also a lack of urgency in terms of wanting to investigate – the first time I had a break-in was during puasa month and the police officer on duty at the front desk of Kajang Police Station told me to come back and make a report after “buka-puasa”. This despite the fact that I had gone to make a report about an hour before buka puasa time.
