Salak South residents crying foul

by Leven Woon on 26 Aug, 2010

Some 300 residents and shop owners at Salak South Garden (SSG) are crying foul over the construction of two new shop-houses building back-to-back at Jalan Hang Tuah 3.

They fear the road, which is the artery road into the area, will be soon choked with vehicles entering the commercial zone.

Salak South Garden Goodwill and Welfare Association secretary Chow Heng Chong said the commercial area would suffer a great loss because the two new shop-houses will further hinder the traffic.

(Left pix) The red dot shows the location of new shophouses. (right pix) Only one-way traffic is allowed since the construction.

“How come now only (DBKL) claims (the part) is a private land and allows them to erect new buildings?” asked Chow, referring to Jalan Hang Tuah 3.

Resident who only wish to be known as Lee, said school buses and garbage trucks can no longer make turnings into the road once the part is squeezed to an alley.

The residents with Seputeh MP, Teresa Kok have decided to submit a memorandum to demand a review from the DBKL (DBKL) in regards to this.

“DBKL is widening roads everywhere, but now they are turning an important access in a commercial zone into a one-way lane?”, said Teresa Kok whom does not agree with DBKL’s approval of the construction.

When asked why an area, which was earmarked as a private land has been turn into a road, Kok said DBKL claimed a wider road was needed prior to the completion of Besraya highway.

However Kok said she will follow-up the complaint with DBKL later.

Problems relating to the impact of
: traffic intrusion into residential street
    : closure of vital links
: converting two way to one way street
: traffic explosion owing to large development
    : change in traffic network
    : Traffic Jam
are never properly assessed and worst of all not properly understood by the relevant authorities.

Dewan Bodoh Kuala Lumpur’s(DBKL):) infrastructure department is a retarded Jabatan for only when the people affected by the above-mentioned significant change in the traffic networks voiced their objections and grievances that they come to realize the impact of their actions or approval.

As i said before Duit Boleh Kira Lulus (DBKL), so it is not surprising that everything is ok if you are rich or if you have $$$$ to feed them.

Rakyat should be tolerance of their ignorant and stupidity as they are the product of a corrupted and ineffective government.

Fortunately, we need not have to bear all these nuisance if we opt for real change that will wipe out corrupted government servant from the face of Malaysia’s soil.

Incidentally, owing to the ineffective government machine, most of our wakil rakyat are compelled to spend almost all of their time to solve traffic, drainage, sewerage, water, security, crime and gangsterism problems.

It is a waste of rakyat’s $$$$, effort & time when the relevant authorities are not doing their jobs.

    Hi Teresa,

I am writing to inform you that in view of DAP’s decision on Ronnie Liu last night, I am very disappointed because DAP is not consistent. Your party’s call for good governance is mere empty talk.

Come GE, I wont be voting for DAP.
