I was busy and fully occupied over the weekend with social and grassroot events.

I wore baju kebaya for the whole of Saturday because I have to attend the happy wedding function of Asst Secretary of the Dewan Rakyat Sujairi and his wife (right) and a mosque open house (centre) at Taman Desa in my constituency. I was interviewed by the TV crew (left) in the mosque before I left.

On Sunday afternoon, I went for drinking session at Salak South Main Road together with YB Tan Kok Wai, where the DAP supporters raised about RM100++ for my service center. After that I went to the funfair that raised fund for Victory Children Home at Puchong where a member, BK Leong, set up a store and sold porridge to raise fund for the home.

Drinking session with supporters at Salak South main road. These grassroot folks often drink at the market area.
A toast from the grassroot in true blue DAP terrority.

    Hi Ms kok,

My applause to you for wearing the baju kebaya when attending the malay wedding as well as the hari raya open house at the mosque. It would be more admirable if you had completed the look by wearing a selendang (loosely), since the mosque is an area where a female worshipper/visitor is expected to cover the aurat (modesty). I do appreciate your religion background, and of course there is no compulsion in you wearing one. However, it would look sweeter (lebih manis!) if you had wore one. That way, the malays/muslims around you would commend your sensitivity towards the sacred nature of the mosque.

I like to stress that there is no compulsion: it would be nicer if you wore one. I hope you don’t take this as a criticism 🙂 Wearing the baju kebaya is already a sweet thing to do. Cheers!
