    Yb Teresa,

    I felt dissatisfied or doubt upon my monthly electricity bill.

    Upfront was shown ‘depreciate / lower down’ tariff; however, if ‘someone’ read consumption and bill late (i.e. after 25 – 30 days) which caused higher pay… how?

    Example:

    Average daily consumption : 20 kWh

    a) 25 days x 20 kWh == 500 kWh
    : 500 kWh x 0.286 : RM 143.00

    b) 30 days x 20 kWh == 600 kWh
    : 500 kWh x 0.286 : RM 143.00 +
    : 100 kWh x 0.378 : RM 37.80 = RM 180.80

    c) 35 days x 20 kWh == 700 kWh
    : 500 kWh x 0.286 : RM 143.00 +
    : 100 kWh x 0.378 : RM 37.80 +
    : 100 kWh x 0.387 : RM 38.70 = RM 219.50

    d) 36 days x 20 kWh == 720 kWh
    : 500 kWh x 0.286 : RM 143.00 +
    : 100 kWh x 0.378 : RM 37.80 +
    : 100 kWh x 0.387 : RM 38.70 +
    : 20 kWh x 0.397 : RM 7.94 = RM 227.44

    How many of us calculate or identify the difference if bill us on 25days, 30days, 35days or even days delay? Refer to the above (a), if bill us @ every 25days of the month, will help to ease us to pay less rather than (b)30days, (c)35days or (d)36days…

    Bear in mind, no matter of direct-/-indirectly bill us on days delay which cause us paying much although quality and service are the same!

    MP Teresa, will there any alternative or rule-&-regulation against those authority to bill us on 25 days or 30 days, rather than 30 days ++?

    Eye-on economy crisis, if able to standardize the billing days (25 – 30days), which seems helpful to all of us to cost saving…

    TQ.
    Warmest regards.

    Race relations in the country has seen improvement since the May 13, 1969 incident, but it came about indirectly through the availability of education over the decades, not solely through the efforts made by BN politicians. People are generally aware of the dangers of race riots and the damages it can do to our country and our lives.
    People can easily buy the 1Malaysia concept if BN component parties, especially Umno, have been able to reduce racial politics in the country since the 12th GE of last year. Racial politics is unlikely to go away since Umno is seeing its support among young Malays eroding fast due to rapid urbanization, especially along the west coast of the peninsula. So, we can expect to come across politicians like Ahmad Ismail who make insensitive remarks without about other races. Political parties such as Umno, MCA and MIC ill always exploit controversies to gain political advantage.
    Malaysians of all races have been through racial controversies so many times that they have become used to them and most are aware that these are but only the gimmicks of politicians. It is safe to say that racial riots cannot erupt so easily like 40 years go because more and more people are educated, and they do not buy easily the cheap racist politics propagated by those hardcore racist politicians.
    1Malaysia is a good concept but it is afraid PM Najib seems to be putting the cart before the horse. The Perak crisis is damaging his reputation and people now seem to begin to have doubts about him. Besides, there is no change in his BN/Umno. No change at the top, how do you expect change at the bottom?
    Now, 40 years after the May 13, 1969 incident, e sincerely hope that PM Najib’s 1Malaysia concept will not remain just a slogan only.

    Thanks DAP Malaysia for the live telecast of the forum over Justin.tv last night. It was indeed a memorable night with a multiracial cast of Pakatan/Pro-Pakatan prominent and eminent politicians and leaders who spoke their minds at the well-attended forum.

    The ‘star’ of the night was indeed embattled Perak MB, Datuk Seri Mohd. Nizar Jamaluddin who received thunderous applauses and a standing ovation from the multiracial crowd for his steadfast commitment and standing up for equality and justice for all Malaysians irrespective of race, culture and religion.
