On March 18th 1966, DAP was formally registered as a political party.
Through the years, the party has held firmly to its principles of a just, equal and democratic Malaysian nation for all her citizens irrespective of ethnicity, religion or social status.
With the relentless march of time, DAP has survived all obstacles and challenges and emerged stronger every time. Through it all, DAP has never wavered from its founding fathers’ belief that there is a place under the Malaysian sun for all.
The Rakyat’s stunning endorsement of the DAP’s struggle on March 8th 2008 is comfort that the battle is being won. Together with her partners in Pakatan Rakyat, DAP will uphold the quest for truth, fairness and justice for all.
May I take this opportunity to congratulate the party leadership and all the members for their steadfastness in the struggle and honour the memory of the many party stalwarts and members of the past who are no longer with us. I thank God for the opportunity to contribute towards the DAP struggle for a better Malaysia.
Let us commit to build DAP up from strength to strength as we seek to fulfil the Rakyat’s aspirations for a democratic and progressive Malaysian nation for All.
