BERSIH slams hackers
At sometime between 11:00am and 12.30pm on Sunday (4 Nov) visitors to the the BERSIH website were greeted by a message (on a yellow background) that read:
!! PENGUMUMAN !!
Perhimpunan terpaksa di tunda ke tarikh yang belum ditetapkan
BERSIH would like to reiterate that the People’s Gathering has not been postponed.
The site is back to normal now.
We slam the hackers for this deplorable act and urge Malaysians to be on the look out for various parties attempting to use under-handed approaches to derail the November 10 event.
But BERSIH will definitely proceed with the People’s Peace Gathering to press for electoral reform and a more democratic Malaysia.
BERSIH will try its best to ensure that the event would be a carnival of people’s power.
Citizen Journalists
BERSIH urges Malaysians to come forward and be counted on November 10.
Apart from participating in the People’s Peace Gathering, we would like all who participate to also play the role of citizen journalists on that particular day by using their handphones or digital cameras to capture images of the event.
We believe that an active citizenry would make a better Malaysia and certainly with more people turning up at public event with camera, we can collectively ensure the peacefulness of the event and prevent any untoward incident.
dirty trick!
The government is merely a servant — merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a patriot and who isn’t. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them.” Mark Twain
November 10th, Dataran Merdeka will be a reminder that the government serves the people and not the people who serves the government.
In the laws of the world, the needs of the many come before the needs of the few but here in bolehland, it has been shown that the needs of the few come before the needs of the many.
We need change.
