DAP received various public comments on the above mentioned road hump which was repeatedly publicised by the local YB Yee Mo Chai. He made press statement when the road hump was installed and again he made statement with his photo taken when the yellow strips (speed trap) is being installed by JKR.
The Luyang people felt that the road hump was not that important for a full minister com YB and MP to personally to come to the spot to witness the installation. They also questioned why Yee has all the time to look at pity small item of work carried out by JKR or DBKK? Is he really that free to spend so much time in Luyang or he had nothing better to do, or had he forgotten that he is a full Sabah cabinet minister whose responsibility under his portfolio is for the whole state and not only for Luyang.
The round about in front of KFC Luyang now being installed with the road hump did caused inconvenience to motorist. Any driver will have to slow down when approaching a round about, and be cautious when entering. This is the traffic law. Now the road hump is so close to the entering point to the round about, it gives the driver less time to stop after hitting the bump and distracted his attention towards the car coming from the right hand side. Thereby the chance of accident will be higher, complaint by a lady driver, Ms Liew.
The rational behind the construction of such a road hump, is it practical? Is it another case of wastage of public fund? We want to see our money being properly and sensibly utilized.
