When I received the invitation to attending the Rocket launch after dinner at KL Convention Center on 10th October 2007, eventhough I was really very busy at that time. I decided to attend the function because the officers of the event have called a few times to ask whether I will attend or not.
I also intend to show my friendliness to the BN guys with the DAP’s presence, and most importantly I want to tell them that NOW EVERYONE CAN FLY, WITH THE ROCKET :-))
When I arrived at the convention hall, I saw some people leaving. I then met with some BN MPs, one of the Sarawak MPs said that, “Hey, we launched your Rocket!” I then smiled and told them it’s time for them to change the Barisan Nasional’s logo, and told them of the new slogan of DAP — Now everyone can fly with the Rocket :-).
I am the the stage of Rocket Launch ceremony after the dinner function on 10th Oct 2007
However, I understand many people on the ground are not that please with the launch of Rocket.
They don’t feel proud at all with the Malaysian first astranaut or space traveller, because the cost we paid is just too high, and the country is not prepare for that as many people are still living in poverty.
Below is a response that I received on the issue with some minor censorship (over some rather anti Malay remarks):
Just wonder the DAP never voice up anything things against the lauch of the first astronaut.
Our tax payer’s money flew off to the space. We lose out so much thing that we suppose to get like hospital, school and so on. The ‘buy one free one package deal show that we are stupid. We just pay for the trip to the space. We dont have capable to go on our own, so we use the dirty tactic to tell the whole world we are capable. Do u think is a shame to go the space by this means. Even a developed country like Singapore never do that. What is sick with them, yet they said without thinking they are going to send Dr F to the space.
My goodness. Dap please do something. I just cant stand with beautiful Mos and lauder and lauder prayer surronding us. please help.

It’s okay to fly in any safe rocket
As long as we’re not too far out of pocket
That we don’t even know where to plug in the socket
Without being entrapped in any form of costly racket
