I delivered a speech on top of a lorry at a dark back lane.
The crowd was very attentive and stood there listening till 12 midnight.
On 10th January 2009, Saturday night, I went to KT for elections campaign again. I supposed to go on Friday night, but my able assistant mistakenly booked the air ticket for one day later.
I arrived there at 9pm, and I went straight to the ceramah site. About a thousand people standing before the lorry-turned-stage. I knew there were a number of speakers waiting for their turn to speak, so I went to the nearby shop to have dinner, then only I went to the stage.
At about 11.15pm, wind started to blow and some rain drops fell on us. However, to my surprise, many of the villagers were still standing there. I then quickly spoke on the lorry stage for about fifteen minutes, then passed the mike to Tian Chua.
I told the crowd two things only:
i) The fact that most newspapers gave great coverage to BN candidate and very little coverage to Pakatan candidate was mainly because the candidate of BN is the then Deputy Home Minister. The press dared not go against him because the editors have been blamed and warned by Home Ministry after March 8 general election.
And that’s why, there is a strong presence of police at KT, so KT is very safe now.
ii) I told them that all ballot papers will be burnt 6 months after polling should there be no contest against the results in court. I passed to them a leaflet done by my colleague that showed the burning of ballot papers in my constituency.
Look at Wan Farid’s poster, see how his party try to make him look jovial and “friendly'”? LOL
why dinner after 9pm? take care of yourself
the BN poster is incomplete
let me try
“wang daripada rakyat
tiada pulangan kepada rakyat
janji kosong untuk rakyat”
now that’s better, with much apologies to my Bahasa teacher as “terdapat banyak kepincangan dalam kawalan bahasa pada saya”
see, should not be “kawalan” but “penguasaan”
saya memang manyak kelemahan
YB Teresa !!!
Congrats to PR !!
One more thing that could help the Rakyat and your could help us.
REVISE the Petrol Prices !! BN have kept quiet too long and the rakyat is not ignorant! BRING DOWN THE PETROL PRICE to reflect the market value.
In order for PR to gain more support, please champion this for us !
Every litre we pump, we are paying to the BN Govt ! Why should we?
Adolf,
please get your bearings right and not to get disappointed with unrealistic expectation
Petrol pump price is set by the FEDERAL GOMEN. PR only control state governments and over the years, state government powers have been gradually eroded by federalization.
You want PR to revise the pump price? tell the voters in Perlis, Terengganu, N Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak to change their voting preference first.
yeah, I also heard people telling Teresa to abolish tolls, battle Dr Doom and save Gotham City.
Please-lah, we Malaysians need to know the division of powers of the country. DAP, I believe, promotes rule of GOOD laws. Unless and until we give’em and PR federal control, it ain’t gonna happen
rather, presently, look at what PR has achieved hitherto with limited state powers and federal intervention / interruption.
case in point, Najib want to stop the Perak MB from giving land titles to Malaysians that can galvanize economic activity yet is stoically silent with regards to the land deals in connection with the proposed Labu LCCT which is located merely 10KM from KLIA.
Great job Teresa and your team.
DAP/PAS/PR must work together for the good of the rakyat and the country going forward.
Lets discuss any religious issues together in a moderate manner. And not let religion destroy the trust between us AT ALL COSTS. Everyone must be realistic and understand the great complexities between religions and races in this equally complex world.
Now is the time for all PKR parties work together and help the country and rakyat economically first thru these difficult times.
God bless all.
