Hi, everyone, Happy New Year to you all. You might be wondering why I disappeared from cyberspace, ya, I was away. I led a investment promotion delegation to Taiwan for a week, after that, I went for a short holiday in China, and I just came back yesterday.
I am now arranging some pix of the past few weeks, and will try to blog some of last year’s events or stories.
I shall start with this piece. 🙂
On my suit against Khir Toyo, his lawyer has contacted my lawyer Sankara Nair and asked for more time for him to prepare his defence. In the meantime, Chamil Wariya’s lawyer has also written to my lawyer to ask for two months to reply. For my suit against Malaysian government and PDRM, they also replied and asked for more time to file their defence.
I don’t like to be entangled in all these law suits, waste of time and waste of money. But, why did all these guys “kacau” me, damage my reputation and image, and cause me to be jailed for a week in the first place?
Teresa Kok sues Khir, Utusan for RM30m
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 — Seputeh MP Teresa Kok has filed a RM30 million suit against former Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Khir Toyo and Utusan Melayu Sdn Bhd over the recent Kinrara mosque “azan” (call for prayer) issue.
The writ of summons was filed at the Civil High Court registry today through the law firm S.N. Nair & Partners.
In her statement of claim, Kok, 44, who is also a Selangor executive council member, claimed that Khir, named as the first defendant, had on Jan 26 allegedly maligned her on the matter in the blog “pembelamelayu.blogspot”.
She also claimed that Utusan Melayu Sdn Bhd, the second defendant, had published the words uttered by Khir in its newspaper on Sept 8 in an article entitled “Ada usaha larang azan di masjid Selangor” (Efforts to prohibit azan in Selangor mosques).
Kok claimed that the accusations by the defendants were baseless, with ill-intention, and carried the meaning that she was a racist and a politician who was anti-Islam and intolerant.
She also claimed that the accusations made by the defendants had resulted in her being caught and detained under Internal Security Act on Sept 12 as well as damaged her reputation and credibility and also implicated her in public scandal, odium and contempt.
She is seeking RM30 million in aggravated and exemplary damages as well as an injunction to refrain the defendants from publishing or spreading defamatory words against her.
Today’s suit is the third filed by Kok against Utusan Melayu this year, the first was on Oct 9 over the “azan” and then on Dec 12 over an article entitled “politik baru YBJ” (YBJ’s new politics), which was published in Mingguan Malaysia. — Bernama

one wonders why the need 2 months or more to reply. if they think they are not in the wrong, they can come back within a week or 2.
A lot of things can be done in a month, let alone 2.
Why these two racialistic stupid bums need TWO MONTHS to reply. If they are really innocent they should be eager face the suit immediately and prove their innocence.
Their current plea for time, proves that they are trying not only to buy time but also may be thinking of deviuos ways to get out of this suit.
Also remember the coming Umno youth election. Our “pendatang” KT idiot dont want to be seen as an idiotic racialistic stupid bum.
Just DO NOT give these bums extra time and room to create havoc. Sue them NOW!!!
Teresa have a great 2009. Take care and god bless you.
