KUALA LUMPUR (13 Nov. 2018): -YB Teresa was guest speaker at the Alliance Investment Bank luncheon talk on “ Malaysia’s Palm Oil Industry in the Post-GE14 Era” attended by the bank’s institutional clients.
She spoke on the current scenario of the oil palm industry, the challenges and way forward for the industry including focus on new markets to increase exports, technologies and approaches to increase yield as well as the country’s biodiesel programme.
She also posed challenges to financial institutions and banks – to introduce innovative financial instruments for our palm oil trade, to develop innovative assistance package to assist smallholders as well as to propose blockchain applications that can be used throughout the commodity trade and industry.
The Minister concluded her talk by inviting them to join in the ministry’s campaign to spread the good messages and benefits of palm oil in countering anti-palm oil campaigns.
