We have had a successful fundraising dinner for the Seputeh service centre on 29 April 2017 at SJKC Yoke Nam at OUG. We opened 120 tables that night, this is the maximum number of tables that can be fit in that hall.
The speakers for the dinner were Tun Dr Mahathir, Liew Chin Tong, Dr Aziz Bari, Nurul Izzah and me.
It was the first time for Tun Mahathir to attend the DAP fundraising dinner. It was a new experience for him and for our dinner participants too. Many dinner participants came to the VIP table to take photo with him and his wife, until he and his wife had no time to eat.
We invited the audience to take the placard with the wording of #TolakKleptokrasi after Tun Mahathir delivered his speech. The audience did it happily with Tun Mahathir. I was amazed to look at the participation of the audience.
We have carried out a collection during the dinner for the PIBC of SJKC Yoke Nam and SJKC La Salle. We collected RM7,000 for both schools.
I must say it was a memorable night for we the organiser and the participants that night. Thanks to all my assistants and party members who helped out and all the donors who attended the dinner that night.
We will make use of the public donation wisely.
