Last week, Lim Kit Siang led a small delegation of DAP MPs to study political Islam in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. The delegation comprises of YB Zairil, YB Steven Sim, Ms Foo Yueh Chuan, Mustaqueem and me.
We took the opportunity to visit Borobudur when we were in Yogyakarta.
Borobudur is located 40 km away from Yogyakarta. It was built in 9th century. The temple was designed according to the Javanese Buddhist architecture, which blends Indonesian indigenous cult of ancestor worship and the Buddhist concept of Nirvana. The building also reflects the influence of the Indian culture in Indonesia. It is also a UNESCO world heritage site.
It was quite exhaustive to climb he staircase of Borobudur structure. I was worried about LKS and so I asked YB Zairil and YB Steven Sim to be the clutch (or tongkat) of LKS, but LKS walked up and down the staircase alone and faster than them. These two guys failed to serve their purpose :-))
When we were in Indonesia, we were told that the China press back home has reported Lim Kit Siang that plays pokermon and has reached a rather “high status”. While we were laughing at the news report in our journey to Borobudur, he then checked whether there was pokermon in Borobudur, he told Zairil and Steven Sim that he managed to find one. Ha ha …..!!
This is LKS, he is forever quick in learning new things. And of course, he will issue media statement and get the latest news updates about Malaysia from time to time whenever he travels overseas -))
