Every Chinese New Year, I will give away mandarin oranges and my CNY calendar cards to my constituents at all morning markets. I have been doing this since I got elected to be the MP for Seputeh.
There are 4 big and 3 small morning markets in my constituency. I must admit that it is tiring to walk and give greetings to each and every hawker and customer in the markets, but I never fail to do it every year as I take it as the opportunity to meet with my constituents and to take complaints from the people.
This year is no different from previous years and the people’s complaints include potholes in the road and damage of the drain. Many also told me that the economy is bad, and they are hoping to have a change of the federal government next round.
