Today is the first day of CNY. I went for CNY mass at the Catholic Church of Jesus Caritas at Kepong Baru together with my mother, sister, nieces and nephew. It is very full of Chinese traditional flavor. All of us received Ang Pao and mandarin oranges from the priests.
The parish priest Father Michael Chua gave a good sermon on the theme of culture and the Catholic faith. Lion dace was preformed after the mass.
After that I went to KL Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall open house, met with a number of Chinese community leaders and a diplomat from the Chinese embassy.
I have been spending the first day of CNY with such routine for the past two decades.
