Teresa Kok is in the midst of hiring bodyguards to protect herself and her family, reports the NST.
Kok said city police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman suggested that she take precautionary measures.
“I have been advised to look after my safety. That is why I am now in the midst of interviewing some potential security providers,” she said outside the city police headquarters yesterday.
Kok was speaking after meeting Sabtu to enquire about the latest development of her case and several other reports lodged by her and her family.
She also said closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras had been installed in her family home in Taman Rainbow, Jalan Ipoh, after the Molotov cocktail attack on Sept 27.
“Following the attack, I’ve noticed that there are more police patrolling Taman Rainbow and I am thankful for that, ” she said.
Asked if she would be fixing CCTVs at her apartment in Overseas Union Garden, Jalan Klang Lama, Kok said there was no need as she felt her guarded condominium unit was safe.
Kok is seeking police assistance for her Hari Raya open house expected to be held next Sunday in Puchong.

Perhaps you can get allowances for hiring them.
At least you have one less worry to take care of.

Vet them carefully before hiring them.
Also, get the police to check their backgrounds as well.
Please make sure that the person you hire will have his/her background check in detail. I am not sure our police can do the job properly judging the way they have performed since lately.
It is indeed sad that our country security situation has reached such a horrible level. Even a popular, peace loving rakyat rep like you have to get a bodyguard. sigh…..
However, the country need more people like you to progress and move forward. We appreciate your sacrifices.
