Teresa’s mum relates horror detention

Posted on Monday, 15-09-2008Monday, 15-09-2008 by Teresa Media

The following is a transcript of what Teresa’s mum said outside the police station after visiting her for 90 minutes.

“I hope she can regain her freedom and come out as soon as possible and continue to live an ordinary life instead of being detained in a cage like a dog. They locked her up once she walked into that room which is only 6′ x 8′. She is not allowed to read newspaper or any other reading material. She lost all her freedom!

“I feel so sad. Yes they gave her three meals a day, but the food is bad! She had diarrhea this morning and her blood pressure plunged!

“Her dad did not notice it but she was so pale when we met her. It pains me seeing her like that. I never expected that my daughter who spend 2/3 of her time a day servicing the people, fighting for the people’s interest and right, can end up like this.

“This Bahasa Malaysia newspaper purposely defamed her, twisted the facts just to get her into trouble, to victimise her.

“I can only encourage her. I told her we are people who believe in God. Bible told us those who are victimise because they fight for justice are the blessed people. Such people are children of God. I encourage her with these words. I told her not to give up but keep on praying.”

Dear MUM and Sassy MP office Team…

I am sooo sorry but this is the 22nd century and I dont believe prayers will prevent Sassy from being hurt, or her health further damaged by lousy police food in jail.

Some affirmative action must be taken, forget virgils or street protest, rather both sassy office should call for a press release, both on MSM- whoever cares to come, and worldwide in the net, as well as whisper campaign…

Ations to be taken are..(apart from sending a lawsuit to the stupid Utusan newspaper…but also

To tell all supporters all over Malaysia to boycott the BM news concerned, including informing the public the list of business that is currently paying advertisments and commercials on this newspaper.

BOYCOTT this newspaper until it dies a natural death.

We shall also boycot all BN and UMNO linked newspapers including all businessess that is currently placing adverts in their news..

If the 50 thousands who voted for Sassy wont even do this, then they should not complain when they cannot get any more service from this MP.

As mum said, Sassy spent 2 thirds of her life serving her constituents, it is only right that the contituents give her this supporting actions which I believe will not endanger their lives compared to coming out in protest.

This boycot action should be done starting tomorrow, the true Meredeka day… and should continue until Sassy is freed, and compensated RM1 million for everyday she spent in jail.

By the way, I am flying a flag only for tomorrow, both my protest on the ISA abuse, and to tell the BN govt that they have been lying to us for 50 years on the true day of Malaysia Day. They dont need to lie to us on history, we already knew for a long time.

this is sickening. Teresa is one tough lady mentally and I hope she has the physical strength to cope as well.

this is utterly ridiculous. How can foreign investors function or think normally when the Selangor State Exco on charge of their affairs is detained this was?

this action is irrational, harsh, illogical and should be reversed immediately.

Uncle Lim has written to the Speaker and a court order been applied by YB Karpal Singh for Teresa’s release. I pray for the success on both counts thought I can’t be sure of that.

I hope the Agong and the Sultan have something to say over this. His majesties are suppose to be apolitical but on grounds of justice (a principal of Islam) and humanity ( a universal value that define us as above other living creatures on earth), I hope his majesties can intervene.

We are all praying for you Teresa, hang in there coz JUSTICE prevails. I pray God give you the strength to endure this suffering, my Mom always says this to me when I complain, Just Carry Your Cross. Almighty God works in mysterious ways, his ways does not always seem to be our way, but it always works out the best way.

    Dear Sabahfan,

You are absolutely right, how can we Seputeh residents not doing anything? Yes, we are, some of us have started a silent move by putting on red ribbon on our car, or shirt to voice out our concern and hope the respective parties see how many of us are saddened by their act. We use red ribbon to tell the respective parties we want our MP back to us… Your suggestions are good for we really don’t know what we can do and this is just a minor thing we do to express our concern.

    Dear Mrs Kok and family,

As a father, I understand how you and your husband must have felt all these days since Teresa’s uncalled for arrest. Our prayers are with you and I also believe that prayers alone will not be enough ant that we should do what we can as individuals to get her out of this and for all Malaysians not to live in the shadow of the ISA now and in future.

For once, government MPs and ministers have joined the call for the review or abolishment of the ISA and this is the greatest sign ever to appear in Malaysian politics. Keep faith and have hope that things will change.

Today, I heard from the news that they are now adding another “wrong doing” to the one they originally stated as the excuse for arresting Teresa under the ISA. They said she opposed the use of “jawi” on road signs. If that is the case, quiet a number of us should pack her 6 x 8 feet room too.

When the Gerakan tried to be clever in putting up multi-lingual signboards in Penang, a lot of us, from both side of the political arena called for them to be taken off!

“Jawi” is not the official language of Malaysia, likewise “Mandarin”, “Tamil”, “Hindi”, “Urdu”, and English. If I or any Malaysian calls for the removal of such alien languages on our roadsigns, is it sedisious? If it is arrest every other Malaysian who at one time or other have asked for one or more of such languages to be removed from roadsigns and shop signboards!!!!

The police and the Minister involved is running out of excuses and heads must role (figuratively of course, if not they will also arrest me for inciting violence. One has to be very careful with our words with the ISA still hanging over our heads like the infamous gallotine of the French Revolution!).

I hope my little contribution will set the people reading this thinking and add as fodder to their fight against the ISA.

We love you Teresa. Keep us the Faith!

    Victor Chew

If prayers can help, then there will be no suffering in this world. Do not leave it to God and I dont believe there is one. The only practical thing to do is to overthrow Barisan Nasional. I hope Anwar will be up to this task.

Our prayers are with Teresa and her family… As a new parent I can only begin to imagine the mental and emotional anguish Teresa’s mother is going through.

But yes, it is good to remember that the pursuit of justice was never promised as a smooth path to follow. Let’s all, in our own little ways, stand up for it.

A concerned well wisher from Perth. I fell terribly sick, Teresa was treated in this inhuman manner…this is only possible, by the UMNO sub-par goons.
“When we walk the right path, we fear not the devils!”
Teresa, our thoughts are with you, stay strong and do not give in to these mad cows!

    Dear Teresa’s mum,

I’m a seputeh resident and have supported teresa and of course voted for her for the past 2 elections.

I just wanna share with u how she has helped me and my fellow owners of a row of shoplots along Jln Kuchai Lama in an ongoing dispute with an adjoining chinese school. I’m so grateful for her help.

MCA came months later and immediately took the side of the chinese school. I’m really ashame of what MCA tried to do.

I’ve nothing against chinese school or any schools for the matter. But when schools break municipal laws and in the aftermath causes long-term distress to property owners, justice should prevail over sympathy for the school.

And I believe Teresa understood that and stood up for what is right and not like MCA who quickly turned it into a political issue of protecting chinese rights.

We need more people like her.

Do let me know if there’s anything I can do to help the situation and within legal and moral boundaries, I’ll be honored to help one who has helped so many.

I hope my short words gives you comfort of the really absurd situation.

    天将降大任于斯人也,必先若其心志,劳其筋骨,饿其体肤,空乏其身,行拂乱其所为,所以动心忍性,曾益其所不能。

A rough translation: “When Heaven is about to place great responsibility on a great man, it always first frustrates his spirit and will, exhausts his muscles and bones, exposes him to starvation and poverty, harasses him by troubles and setbacks so as to stimulate his spirit, toughen his nature and enhance his abilities.”(moderator)

Someone described Umno/BN’s present behavior as that of total panic in the cockpit of an aircraft suddenly going into a vertical nosedive. The pilot & co-pilot are desperately pushing every control within reach, hoping one will be the right one to save them from smashing headlong into hard ground. One of these controls they pushed happens to be named Teresa Kok, among the most popular and admired MPs since she started her political career. Well, this was Umno/BN’s FATAL mistake…. a section of Chinese voters still harbors anxieties about Anwar as PM, even after his resounding victory at Permatang Pauh. However, the ISA arrests have instantly shifted these holdbacks to earnestly desire a change of government ASAP! It’s really sad that anybody – what more a lovely and energetic person like Teresa – has to be subject to such cold-blooded treatment, especially if they have done absolutely nothing criminal and pose no threat to anybody (except botox-faced Chief Ministers forced into early retirement by GE12). But if this was the last straw that broke Umno/BN’s back, then let us apply our collective will to ensure that Teresa’s release coincides with the Pakatan Rakyat’s takeover as federal government – in effect, the sooner the better! Teresa Kok may have the dubious honor of being the last ISA detainee in Malaysia!

    Hi Teresa,
    Hear these words of encouragement and strength;

    Deuteronomy 33:27
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

    Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

    Psalm 25:1-3:
    1 To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
2 in you I trust, O my God.
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
3 No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame
    who are treacherous without excuse.

Moral support is well and good but the fact remains that YB is under detention. Her living conditions is very poor and I am sure they are not going to make it any comfortable for her. They will be very polite to her but the food and the mosquitoes is enough to make her life miserable.Try sleeping on a hard surface if you are not used to it.
I hope her supporters will get the message, not to get YB involved in any sensitive issues.
I presume those residents who submitted the petition is feeling sorry for YB in the comforts of their homes.

Regardless of what others may believe regarding prayer, most of us, even in this “so-called” modern era still very much believe in the power of prayer

Rom 8:28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:

I can confidently say, prayers are with you, Teresa’s mom & team!

    Dear Teresa

I met you at the Chinese Methodist Church KL a few years back where you related how you first became an MP and God’s calling upon your life into politics. On Sunday night during the mooncake festival, my husband and I together with our 10 month old baby prayed for you, for your release and for this country. We want you to remain strong in the Lord for He is your strong fortress and an ever present help in times of trouble. God bless.

I am so worried and sad that such injustice has on you. You have done a lot to the society and Malaysians and do not deserve this kind of “rewards” in return. You are our Malaysians’ heroine.

The bastards who had framed you will be suffering day and night mentally for the sins they have done.

May God bless you, YB Teresa Kok. May Good Lord give you strength and light in the face of darkness.

    Dear Mr & Mrs Kok,

When I was a little boy…my parents taught me if I ever became lost in shopping centers or on the streets of KL, I had only to find a policeman & run to him & I would be safe. I was taught all policemen are the “good guys” & I would be protected from the “bad guys”. I was taught the police would keep me safe & help me until I was reunited with my parents & family. In the those days the police were really the “good guys”, they conducted themselves with honour, they were respected by everyone & every household held them with the highest regard. In those days it was every little boy’s dream & ambition to be a policeman when he grew up.

Today I’m a father blessed with 2 lovely daughters. Today many things have changed. Today I will not poison my childrens’ minds with such fairy tales.

If ever any of my children (because of the actions of some idiots & clowns) were put in a situation similar to your daughter, I pray & hope that I will have your strength & courage to see it through.

Everyone who was both directly & indirectly responsible for your daughter’s current situation will have to answer for it one day. I pray they will have no peace until the day they receive God into their hearts.

My household will remember both of you & your daughter before God. On your next visit, kindly remind Theresa to be strong & be encouraged with the following which my children have requested for you to tell her.

    I am familiar with you,
and you were not a mistake.

I also comfort you in your troubles,
I am close to you when you are broken-hearted,

And one day I will wipe away
    every tear from your eyes.

    Psalms 139:3, 15-16.
    2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
    Psalms 34:18.
    Revelation 21:3-4.

    Dear Mr & Mrs Kok,

It saddens my heart that such injustice has been done to our beloved MP, YB Teresa Kok. I pray for God’s peace and strength to be upon you and your family, and especially Teresa, in these times of trials and tribulations.

May the peace of God calm her faithful heart. The book of Isaiah 41:10 says,

‘Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.’

We are fighting against the forces of darkness in the spirit realm. Please assure her that He will not leave her or forsake her.
May God richly bless you & your family.
