On 6 June 2011, Teresa Kok visited Pusat Kebajikan SSL in Puchong and officially launched their new dialysis machines, imported from France.
Here is her speech she delivered:
Reverend Sze Chang Heng, President, Yayasan Kebajikan SSL Haemodialysis.
Ladies and gentleman,
I am delighted to be with you today to officially launch Yayasan Kebajikan SSL’s first hemodiafiltration (HDF) treatment.
This marks a major milestone for renal care in Malaysia as Yayasan Kebajikan has brought in four units of the ARTIS machine, a Swedish haemodialysis machine, which delivers excellent individualised treatments and improved clinical outcome in patients.
The hemodiafiltration treatment has been growing in popularity in Europe because it revolutionises the conventional haemodialysis treatment.
The ARTIS machine utilises the HDF technology to provide efficient treatments that self-adapt to the physiological status of patient and makes all necessary adjustments. This significantly reduces the need for repeated adjustments during the dialysis and enables the most efficient blood purification for the patient.
The introduction of this new form of dialysis is but one of the many achievements in high quality healthcare by Yayasan Kebajikan SSL.
In 1993, Sau Seng Lum Haemodialysis Centre in PJ achieved the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System and Healthmark Certification by SGS United Kingdom Ltd.
In 2008, Sau Seng Lum Dialysis & Stroke Rehabilitation Centre in Puchong achieved the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System and Healthmark Certification by SGS United Kingdom Ltd for its stroke division.
Both times, Sau Seng Lum were furthered honoured by the Malaysia Book of Records for their pioneering achievements.
With Yayasan Kebajikan SSL’s track record of providing high quality health care, I have the greatest desire to see these new ARTIS haemodialysis machines used to their fullest extent. I congratulate them for their foresight in making this investment for the healthcare of Puchong and Malaysia and I officially launch this service.
Thank you.
