Tony Pua’s death threat an act of cowardice and moral depravation

Posted on Thursday, 12-08-2010Thursday, 12-08-2010 by -ec-

Press Statement by Teresa Kok, Selangor State Senior EXCO for Investment, Industry & Trade and MP for Seputeh on 12 August 2010 at Shah Alam

Tony Pua’s death threat an act of cowardice and moral depravation

I deplore the M16 bullet and anonymous death threat note sent to intimidate Tony Pua, MP for PJ Utara.  It is an act of cowardice and I condemn it unreservedly.

By resorting to such criminal acts, the perpetrators merely display their lack of personal morals, and more significantly, their own inability or refusal to address Tony Pua on any point of contention in a mature, dignified manner.

This incident is but one of many where Opposition elected representatives have been threatened.

In September 2008, a molotov cocktail was thrown into my family home together with a note that said they would set my family and I on fire.

In September 2009, someone who called himself “hanturaya” wrote on my blog that “teresa, kau ni perlu diajar dgn darah t.kasih (sic)”

To date, the perpetrators of these death threats have yet to be nabbed by the police.

I urge the police to investigate and bring to justice the criminals behind these threats to send a strong message that these acts are criminal and cannot be tolerated.

At the same time, the police must ensure that all steps necessary are taken to guarantee the safety and security of Tony Pua, his family and his staff.

M16 Bullets manufactured in Malaysia sent to Tony reflects the fact that our political system, freedom of speech and security are under threat.

If M16 can be delivered undetected to Tony, it can also be sent to PM, you and me.

the question is, who gotten access to get the M16 bullets?

only PDRM and the armed forces, under the controlled of UMNO-BN administration so as tax payers and peace loving reasonable Malaysian, we need to ask the federal administration to be accountable for this.

if what Tony suggest warrants a bullet, than what Nazir said which invited a shelling from Ibrahim Ali should get a belt of 50 calibre machine gun bullets.

if Nazir does not get it then certain suspicion would be confirmed

and will many many poor malays get very very upset to the extent to kill someone who suggests very rich people who can afford RM0.5million bungalows do not need subsidy? even Idis Jala said subsidy should be cut, NEM mentioned merit-base assistance and this suggestion is even consistent with the rational of recent subsidy-cut/petrol price up

so can these brain-empty idiots be consistent?

in this enlightened age, moving the country forward requires moral courage and bright fair minds, not medieval caveman mentality

a damning indictment of BN’s >50 years education system and effort in nation building…we have a country leadership that teach us to hate, not love. and we tax payers should hold them responsible
