The Covid vaccination programme rolled out in many parts of the country, including in the Seputeh constituency. Yesterday, I visited Covid-19 vaccination centre at Kompleks Komuniti Muhibbah next to Klinik Kesihatan Muhibbah.
The vaccination centre is administered by MOH Lembah Pantai District, it is also near to PPR Muhibbah.
Lembah Pantai MOH centre looks after residents in 3 parliamentary seats, namely: Seputeh, Lembah Pantai and Bukit Bintang.
I was greeted by the head of the Lembah Pantai District Dr Ghazali Bin Chik and his colleagues. They showed me the arrangements for vaccination for members of the public. The hall was nicely arranged and it looked cosy.
Many of the vaccine recipients in the hall were either senior citizens or front-liners. There were also young volunteers assisting members of public to fill up forms, and doctors were present to evaluate health condition of the recipients.
The atmosphere of the vaccination centre was quite pleasant. I suggested to Dr Ghazali to recruit some multi-lingual volunteers to help to explain to some vaccine recipients who are not fluent in Bahasa. He agreed with my views and said young people who are interested to be volunteers can apply online.
I told Dr Ghazali that MOH should send more medical professionals to go down to the ground to explain to people about vaccination. I said my service centre wishes to organise such briefing sessions for MOH staff in some low cost flats.
The vaccination centre will operate till the end of the year. I hope more KL residents can be vaccinated asap to protect themselves from the disease.
Again, my deepest appreciation for the sacrifice and service of all medical front-liners.
