I read the DAP-bashing speeches of MCA leaders with amusement. The speeches made by Liow Tiong Lai, Wee Ka Siong and Chong Sin Woon are not only arrogant, but they are also ignorant on what the people want.
Support BN Means Support BN+PAS, a possible “theocratic regime”
——————————————————————————————
In the speech of the MCA President Liow Tiong Lai in the MCA 64th Annual General Assembly (AGM) yesterday, he attributed the loss of seats of MCA in the last two General Elections to the DAP. He said the Chinese voters were misled by the DAP and he urged the Chinese voters to support the MCA to deter a “theocratic regime” in ruling Malaysia.
I wonder whether MCA President Liow is suffering from selective amnesia. PAS has severed ties with the DAP in 2015, and subsequently cutting ties with PKR this year in its national convention. PAS is collaborating with UMNO to pursue its Syariah and Islamic agenda. That’s the reason RUU355 motion was given the chance to be tabled and PAS MPs were given the chance to debate in the Dewan Rakyat. On top of that, UMNO ministers were even speaking in the support of RUU355 in a rally organised by PAS this year.
In Liow’s speech in the Malaysia Chinese Youth Summit on 20th October 2017, Liow has openly admitted that “UMNO and PAS are flirting each other”.
Since MCA and other BN component parties have failed to persuade UMNO from flirting with PAS and they have even failed to stop the motion of RUU355 from being presented in the Parliament, and since the next General Elections will be the election of Pakatan Harapan vs BN+PAS, supporting MCA means supporting a possible “theocratic regime” by using Liow’s language.
This shows Liow Tiong Lai is contradicting his own statements. How does he expect the Chinese community to accept his argument and analogy?
Why didn’t Liow Tiong Lai and MCA Criticise Mahathir when He Was The PM?
——————————————————————————————————-
Liow Tiong Lai criticised Tun Mahathir heavily in the MCA AGM. He said Mahathir’s legacy has burdened the people includes tolls, massive losses at Malaysia Airlines, Perwaja and in forex trading, lopsided concession agreements, privatisation to cronies and nepotism.
Liow criticised Lim Kit Siang for making U-turn in working with Mahathir, thus DAP is “consistently inconsistent. Unlike DAP, MCA is consistently consistent. BN is consistently consistent.”
It is easy for us to rebut Liow’s accusation against Lim Kit Siang and the DAP. The DAP leaders have never retracted our statements made against the Mahathir-led BN government in the past. Both Tun Mahathir and the DAP leaders are working for the future. Both parties are setting aside our previous differences and work together for the sake of saving Malaysia from a corrupt and kleptocratic regime. We are working for the future and not the past.
I want to question Liow Tiong Lai, MCA was part of the BN coalition government when Tun Mahathir was the Prime Minister. Why didn’t the MCA criticise and stop certain policies from being implemented by the BN government led by Tun Mahathir during his time, but they only made criticism against Mahathir after he left UMNO and BN now?
Isn’t this apparent that MCA doesn’t have principles and it has never played its proper role in the BN coalition government, and it was and always will be the “lapdog” of UMNO in whatever circumstances. Will MCA leaders forever keep mum even when UMNO leaders made serious flaws in their conduct?
The DAP-bashing speeches made by Liow Tiong Lai and other MCA leaders won’t help MCA to gain back the support if it continues to play the role of “lapdog” to UMNO.
The Chinese community and people of other racial communities are sick and tired of the corruption, bad governance, injustices, high cost of living etc in the country. The whole nation is crying out for Change and Reform, but MCA leaders are seem only interested in combating DAP but offers nothing to reform the nation in its AGM.
So, why should the people continue to support MCA?
