About BERSIH:
BERSIH was launched in November 2006 in Parliament with the objective of pushing for electoral reforms. BERSIH comprises NGOs such as Suaram, Women’s Development Colective (WDC), Aliran, DEMA, Writers Alliance for Media Independence (WAMI), Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Persatuan Ulama Malaysia (PUM), HAKAM, Tamil Foundation, Civil Rights Committee of SCAH, AWAM , etc and political parties DAP, PKR, PAS, PSM and SNAP.
Apart from a long-term reform agenda, BERSIH’s immediate working goals are:
1. Use of indelible ink
2. Cleanup of the electoral roll
3. Repeal of domestic postal voting
4. Fair media access
