Press statement by Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh, on 22nd December, 2012, at Shah Alam.

The Deputy Prime Minister cum Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s proposed plan to encourage more students to study science is unfair to those who have the passion and interest for art subjects.

Muhyiddin had proposed tax incentive for parents to have their children enrolled into science stream.

The proposed incentive may set the path for students to drop all the art subjects in school. Parents may be lured through this lop-sided incentive to influence or pressure their children to enter into the science stream.

The ultimate goal of education is the freedom to learn and experience new and creative ideas based on their own needs and interest.

To promote only the science subjects would indirectly create a misconception within our society that art stream students are inferior.

I urge Muhyiddin to thread carefully in matters of education and not to go on this divisive path. I hope the Cabinet will consult with educationists, parents groups and other stakeholders before the Education Ministry is allowed to proceed further.

Self admitted, this son of Indonesian parents, is not here as politician to serve the people al; he is doing is to spin and lie. Frankly I do not know why and how he has even become the DPM but on second thought do the scumbags and parasites in Umno have an alternative ? After all half a loaf is better than none even if it is someone from abroad.
He even said recently that Malaysia has better education than the west, yet since NEP was started in 1969 million of ‘top’ Malay students have been sent abroad for the inferior education on returning to Malaysia are then well placed in the civil service or GLO organizations, How many of these ‘top’ scholars ever were recognized internationally ?
Malaysia should have excess of professionals for them to be exported.
Especially so after having sent so millions of these students to become professionals yet for sometime now these morons are going abroad pleading for the immigrated professionals who are mainly pendatangs to return to serve the country with incentives and more incentives. Why ? And just to proof their policies are working they came up with some ‘cooked up figures’ that their offer is working instead of admitting that even with all these cash incentives and added cash incentives the scheme and pleading are not working. Just remember these are professionals who can think what is right and wrong regardless of the incentives offered to them. They know ultimately they still have to report to a Malay Datuk or Tan Sri !
Why are theses scumbags not telling the truth that their policies are not working and are falling on deft ears ? I know of people being invited to attend the meetings being organized by the Talent Corp. just to listen to their garbage they have to offer. What Talent Corp. is doing is like shutting the gates after the cows and sheep have run off the enclosures. They don’t and will never appreciate these professionals were here in Malaysia in the first place but were marginalised and it is for these reasons they all left. Once beaten twice shy and will never ever be lied again. A typical example of what the scumbags and parasites are !
