Seputeh DAP is on yet another fund-raising drive. It’s been terribly hard to make ends meet. We don’t have rich cronies nor do we get kickbacks to keep our service centre going. Out of desperation, we have decided to appeal to the public for financial assistance. The following is the content of a letter that will be sent to some business people. I’ll be happy if readers could help out in anyway possible. No amount is too small; every sen is appreciated.
Service Center Building Fund
We are very grateful the voters of Seputeh have been electing DAP candidates into Parliament continuously for the past four decades.
Ever since I became your MP in October 1999, I have done my best to serve the people of this constituency.
While my services have always been free, the costs of running the service centre have skyrocketed to RM8,000 per month, of which RM1000 is for rent.
From October 1999 up to December 2006, the rent alone has set Seputeh DAP’s balance sheet back by a whooping RM90,000. The amount of rent we have paid over the past four decades was enough for us to buy the people of Seputeh a modern service centre on a neat piece of prime real estate!
Since most of our funds are donations, the Seputeh DAP has decided to buy an office lot to be used as a service centre, This way, at the end of the day we will have a fixed asset instead of a monthly loss. We are positive this move is in your best interest.
Our new premise is at 28-3A, 4th Floor, Sri Desa Entrepreneur’s Park, Jalan 116/B, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama, 58200 Kuala Lumpur.
The centre will not just serve as the constituency office but will also:
i) act as a community centre for members of the public,
ii) be the office and meeting place of the Malaysian Spring Single Mothers’ Society,
a group which offers counseling and assistance to single mothers and their children, iii) serve as a self-improvement centre that provides life skills, examples being computer class, English lessons etc.
We appeal to your generosity to help us out in this challenging financial investment which is an investment for our future generations. Please help by sending a crossed cheque to: DAP Cawangan Seputeh, or make a deposit into our MayBank account 5-14235-464557.
Thanking you all in advance.

*Please note none of our members will be out soliciting for cash donations without issuing a receipt.
Our new centre is in this building, fourth floor. The Rockets will be out there soon. 🙂
I know it’s a bit messy but we can’t afford a maid.
The sign tells the story.
My cronies. hehehe
