The day the streets were filled up (peacefully) by the rakyat and cleared up (violently) by the authorities.
An amazing and hopeful sight – the yellow brigade flooding the streets of KL… marching in unison and chanting with gusto and high-spirits.
Then came the menacing attacks, as many of you would have witnessed personally and viewed online.
I am in awe of the rakyat and stand in solidarity with you. Don’t allow the authorities’ high-handedness to dampen your desire to see a truly clean, democratic and changed Malaysia.
I am sure many of you would have caught all the news and action online but here are just a few links to some visuals from Saturday which have caught my attention:

All Bersih participants starting from Friday night have been acting like it was carnival time.Tourists, rally supporters, curious onlookers all mingling around with police personnel.Taking pictures like they were celebrities.
The police personnels for once in a long time have been neutral and more accomodating.Up till Saturday, before mayhem erupted at around after 3pm,the people were very comfortable with the police around them. And the police have been very professional,up until the protestors breached the baricades.
Even Bersih chairman Ambiga reminded supporters on Friday not to breached the baricades.Even after Ambiga thanked supporters and asked them to disperse and go home,PKR politicians were busy instigating party hardcores to breach the baricades.
There should not be passing the blame to the men in blues.Once the baricades were breached, the police have a duty to perform.Once the attack dogs are set lose, there is no hope of calling them back, until all the trouble makers are chased home.
Just because the good for nothing useless son of shithead Nazri can go around bashing a security guard and has immunity from the law, because his corrupted old man is a minister,we law abiding citizens have to follow them in our actions.
For once be non partisan and call a spade a spade.
