语言表达的精准 数个星期前，某家杂志的专题作者和老报人邓如钦访问笔者，在访问过程中，我接了几个电话，并在电话里给我的助手工作指示。邓如钦看在眼里，接着对笔者说：“你的语言表达很简洁精准。有很多人讲话很啰嗦，经常讲不到重点。”我听后感到有点儿惊讶，因为从没有人对笔者这么说过。 上个星期，新山区国会议员沙里尔在一个非政府组织所举办的讲座会上，批评一些国会议员在国会向部长提问题时爱耍花巧，他们不向部长提出和追问课题的重点，而提出许多不着边际的东西，这往往让部长有机会借此回避有关课题的重点，答非所问。 我对于沙里尔的观点只能认同一半，因为太多时候，许多部长是刻意的回避一些敏感课题，而不是国会议员提的问题转移部长的视线所致。例如两个星期前，当下议院辩论外交部的财政预算案时，外交部副部长便刻意拒绝回答林吉祥和笔者在演讲中所提的缅甸课题，引起林吉祥的炮轰。 日前，我陪同一个与大马籍丈夫离异的外国夫人到移民厅会见一名总监级的官员。最初我以为这名外籍夫人被移民厅拒绝她的大马居留证，后来听她以马来语在官员前把文件翻来覆去和啰里啰唆之后，该官员和我才知道她真正的问题是因为她的大马工作准证申请被拒，这才是她的问题所在。这是语言表达能力不精准的最佳例子。
